For Eurozone collectors:
Months ago we were doubtful about the final price we would pay.

In fact 542 $ (box + shipping) could vary from

361 euros (rate 1,5) to 451 euros (rate 1,2)
(striking 90 euro uncertainty gap!)

Today I've been finally charged 382 euro (rate 1,42). Like buying three Ron Jones Projects.
Bottom line: for Europe has been a real bargain! Beware: NOW, tomorrow you can't say.

I don't know how your situation is, but in Norway, we would have to pay 25% of the total plus shipping in extra customs.

So it would look something like this:

Box: $500
Shipping: $42 (if your calculated fee also applies to Norway)
Customs & taxes: $136
Expedition: $20
Total: $698

Even with the low dollar exchange rate, that's about the same amount I pay for a long weekend in a European city, complete with air fare, hotel and spending money!!! eek

So as much as I desired this, I just had to let it go.

Yes, if that's the prize of a Ron Jones project (I'm not sure what that is).

If the youtube videos are to believed, everything the USB drive is taken from cassettes so really you aren't gaining anything by having it in 320kbps or in lossless. I could be wrong of course.

You are.

NOOO! Mine shipped on April 1st, and I'm on vacation! My box could be stolen, or worse, sent back to Warner Bros. if I'm not there within three days of it's arrival!

You can get the tracking number by following the steps above. With that info, you can probably call UPS and have the package held for you till you get back (or sent to a different address but it might cost money).

Sorry to hear that, if it is on your porch, can you call a neighbor or a friend in your town to pick it up and hold it for when you return? Also, if UPS takes it back to their warehouse, call them and I'm sure they can hold it or something!

Have fun on your vacation, hope your some place warm!

It's here!!!! And just as cool as I imagined it would be. The UPS guy didn't even need my signature so if you're not home, it might just be left at your doorstep.

There's a certificate of authenticity (I'm 948!) and a 3-page introductory letter which also details the bonus USB tracks. Each CD envelope includes a paper fold-out insert with original LP/CD artwork, credits, and a note from Elfman.

The USB drive is cool and the interface takes about 10 seconds to figure out. I haven't figured out how to save entire albums to my hard drive, only individual tracks. I'm importing Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and I had to fill out the metadata manually. This might take a while! smile

And my name is in it!!!!!! Scott Saslow (just before Koray Savas)

How do you thread the cartoons through the zoetrope? I can't seem to get it to work right...

I haven't tried that yet but someone else might know.

I'm leafing through the book right now. Page 43: if WB had their way, Elmer Bernstein might've done the score for Pee-Wee's Big Adventure!
