So after a day, 3 titles sold out... and none of those titles were Die Hard 2! Surprisingly, it still has a good 1600 copies in stock. I still ordered 1 with Man on Fire earlier.

And while I have no insider info or anything, with LLL having done Die Hard and Varese doing Die Hard 2, wouldn't it be cool if Intrada surprised us with Die Hard with a Vengeance one day?

Or La La Land??? :-) so hoping.

I was thinking La-La-Land just a few hours ago... It'd be fantabulous!

Not seeing a single "No go for DH3" comment posted in over a year gives me warm feelings about this one. :-)

Next March I'm going to NYC and I hope that I'll listen to the complete score of DH3 at least then ;-) Let's hope for LLL, Intrada or whoever ;-)

Must be an optical illusion. I opened it up in Photoshop and ran guide lines. It's perfectly straight.

Ah okay, probably with the back drop is why it looks off.

Hey Peter

They will email you a ship notification when it is coming your way.

BTW... DIE HARD 2 rocks. smile Love it. I saw the movie with my best friend in a packed theater. The audience was amazing. Claps. Yells. Laughs. I also will never get the negative reviews.

Thanks for the heads up man. And yea, I like it too. Like I said, I will never understand the negative reviews either. Thought it had a lot of fun action and cool one-liners. The concept was pretty kick ass too.

What aas the story behind the "Fight on the wing" cue again? Was this cue reworked from another tv score he did from Amazing Stories or something? If so why? Curious...

Thank god. I'm on holiday and only found out about the releases today (managed to get some wonky wifi) and while I'm sad Enemy Mine is already sold out I'm glad DH2 hasn't. Been wanting to pick it up for years and now I can and its expanded smile

I think this cue is also used in the DH3 finale and it's from Kamen's music library. For Amazing Stories it's "only" a remix. I don't know the original track name.

Um, no. Good film, but nowhere near the brilliance of the first.

I don't know that it's technically better--Die Hard is one of those movies that's just about perfect--but I personally enjoy it more. It kept a lot of elements of the first one--Holly in danger, the reporter, Reginald VelJohnson, a somewhat contained setting, Christmas--while keeping them fresh and adding some nice supporting roles.

Really, the fact that as of next year there will be more Die Hard movies not set at Christmastime than ones that are is just sad.

Difficult to say. My first was DH3, I had to see this with my parents in the local cinema because of the age wink After watching the two others I really missed Reginald VelJohnson in the first one. But the third one has something special with Jeremy Irons for me. Okay Holly isn't there, not even one the phone. But it was my first action movie on cinema;-) So my ranking is finally 1. DH3, 2. DH1 and 3. DH2

The first film was almost perfect, and among all the chaos had heart. The second film was needlessly violent and vulgar. Though arguably it had the better score.

I find Die Harder the weakest of the trilogy because it's basically a rethread of the first one, but in an airport. Renny Harlin does a good job with the visuals but aside from a couple of memorable set pieces, the special effects and action feels too 'been there done that'. I think William Sadler is decent as the villain, but he is no Hans or even Hans' brother for that matter wink. Gone is the claustrophobic setting of the Nakatomi building, the glass tower as Willis' feet will endure; the abandoned airport hangars and conveyor belts do little for me.

Kamen's score is great though, it feels bigger with more orchestration than the first one. I suspect the complete album will be a similar experience to Trevor Jones' Cliffhanger, with a nice balance of thematic and action material. Another great score to a Renny Harlin movie.
