You can remove "Pros & Cons" from your list. Not sure how IMDB managed to get that listing. They tend to make quite a few mistakes. I was the music editor on all 13 episodes of that series (IMDB says 6 episodes, another mistake) and still have the publishing logs in my files. All episodes were composed by William Olvis and Basil is not listed as having composed anything for that series. (David Raksin got a credit for a brief clip from "Al Capone" that was used in episode 4). IMDb is user contributed. Some user probably only had six episodes with the end credits to see who the music edito was. Happens to me all the time -- I can only find partial or missing end credits episodes of series on youtube. "Pros and Cons" looks to be a confused entry. Basil scored an unaired pilots from 1986 by that name, not the series. I'll make the appropriate corrections to that IMDb listing for the series.

So should I add the title back in, for the unaired pilot he scored? Yavar

Yes, it's a pilot for a different series that didn't get made. I stand corrected: it did air one time. I've added his credit to the correct pilot on IMDb.

For me, it's CONAN THE DESTROYER. C'mon, Intrada, what's taking so long? Ya been working on some multi-disc golden age box set or somethin'? Jokes aside, I'm not a fan of re-recordings, regardless of how great they can be. It's just not my thing. So, I must have the CTD set that Intrada is to the best of my knowledge still working on. So, yeah, that's my Basil list. Pretty simple, no?

Updated the main post to remove the following thanks to Intrada's new complete release: "The Blue Lagoon -- Twilight Time released this on Blu-ray with an isolated score track. Can anyone who has it comment on the sound quality and any unreleased music? It'd be great if a label could released a definitive version on CD as the existing album is only a little over half an hour." It would seem that Intrada's new release has even more music than was featured on the Twilight Time release. It's certainly been an amazing year for Poledouris fans, with several substantial expansions and the premiere of his Twilight Zone scores! I hope the labels keep it up! Yavar

And two weeks later, Intrada gives us the sequel score, complete and with extras! I had written, "Return to the Blue Lagoon -- aside from a shoddy unmentionable this lovely title is completely unreleased. It's Columbia-owned, so most likely something a big label like LLL, Intrada, or Varese (in the Club) might put out." So exciting that Intrada tackled both Blue Lagoon scores back to back...an important hole in Basil's discography has now been filled. Thanks for bringing us this great music! Yavar

I'm only bumping this thread to comment on what an amazing year it has been for us Poledouris fans. First, Intrada released all four of his 80s Twilight Zone scores in complete form, then Varese produced complete Deluxe Editions for both Starship Troopers and Robocop 3, and finally Intrada took back the reins and ended the year with a one-two punch of BOTH Blue Lagoon scores in definitive complete form! Holy cow! Basil almost had a Jerry-level number of releases from these two specialty labels this year, which is remarkable since he didn't work in the business for nearly as long and didn't write nearly as many scores every year. We fans owe these two labels a great deal of gratitude (as well as Lukas Kendall who was involved in at least some of these). Please keep up the Poledouris love in 2017! Yavar

Here are some mysteries: http://perspectiveforum.net/2016/05/22/finding-family-with-basil-poledouris/ Late career tossed scores. No projects named. I know of no late career confirmed rejected scores. The closest I can come to for unconfirmed titles from his late career (these are the only ones I know, but there may be others): "Along Came a Spider" "D-Tox" "The Young Black Stallion" And he was the initial chocie for "Igor", but the film got pushed back and he passed away. I assume it wasn't complete enough for him to write and record for at the time, though I wouldn't rule out demo themes. So, mystery tossed scores to look forward to.

And Varese keeps knocking out the Poledouris titles they control with new complete editions! Under Siege 2: Dark Territory was just announced today as a new Deluxe Edition from Varese: http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=119251&forumID=1&archive=0 Even discounting the two bonus source cues, this release appears to be about 5 minutes longer than the unmentionable that was making the rounds. This is amazing news for all Poledouris fans! This leaves only five remaining Poledouris titles that they control for potential future expansions: For Love of the Game, It's My Party (if there's any more music), On Deadly Ground, Hot Shots! Part Deux, and Wired (not positive on this one as it's 1989). Of these I would say On Deadly Ground might be the most likely candidate for the next release. Yavar

There are supposed to be alternates on the other, but who really knows.

It was in Production Hell for years and by the time it came for the score, he had died. But Zoe scored it (with somebody else).

Incredible news -- two more completely unreleased Poledouris 80s scores are about to see the light of day, on the Dragon's Domain release, The Basil Poledouris Collection Volume 2: http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=120438&forumID=1&archive=0 I have therefore removed Prison for Children and Single Bars, Single Women from the main post. From the product description, Prison for Children in particular sounds promising: "The film features an exceptional score by Poledouris, composed between his scores for the TV mini-series AMERIKA and the feature film ROBOCOP. It’s a splendid symphonic work, comprising a single theme which encompasses the entire story through variations and unique arrangements. In some ways this score foreshadows his rich, Americana score for LONESONE DOVE (1989), while the electronic passages are reminiscent of those he would develop further in THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER (1990)." I have removed Bunyan and Babe from the first post as pre-orders are now being accepted for it: https://notefornotemusic.com/blogs/news/release-announcement-update I had written, "Bunyan and Babe -- reportedly he began work on this and it was going to be finished by a protege, if the film actually ever comes out. Admittedly details are sketchy but if Kamen's Back to Gaya got a release maybe this has an outside chance. Would probably be on MovieScore Media like the aforementioned album and Basil's last completed score which they also released (I think it may have been their fastest sell out): The Legend of Butch and Sundance." Nice to finally have the details that he did begin work on this, but only apparently wrote the main theme. Very neat that his daughter helped to finish the score. Even neater that a brand new label sprung up and decided to release this! Also, Ford Thaxton recently posted in the Basil Poledouris Collection Vol. 2 thread: "we have a couple of more in the Pipeline at the moment." http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=120438&forumID=1&archive=0&pageID=1&r=493#bottom I think this means more early Basil premieres/expansions are on the way! Which ones are you hoping for? I for one would love Protocol and Amazons, but I would also love to discover Basil's music for even more obscure things, like Trust Me, Defiance, Dolphin, Murphy's Law, The Sheriff and the Astronaut, Kill or Be Killed, Why Me?, Nasty Boys, L.A. Takedown, Split Decisions, Intrigue, and Island Sons. There's just so much obscure early stuff in his filmography with the potential to be good! Yavar

You're welcome. Another score site listed a dozen or so documentaries he scored, so I went hunting. Sadly, some are so obscure they only come up on that site and ones copying that site.
