Jim Phelps (circa 1976-77) with his first childhood hero, Steve Austin:

Nearly forty years later and we're still waiting for a proper release of Six Million Dollar Man music.

That was a great time to be a kid. I was a little older at the time, but still in the SMDM groove.

Jim, I tried to rejuvenate your snapshot a little and maybe fix the pink track suit. My color vision isn't perfect so somebody let me know if I made it better or worse with this attempt:

Zap, you the man! For years I believed the fuchsia swing song going on with that photo to be a result of ol' Steve's track suit getting washed a bit too much but that cherished photo looks great now. The wall is back to its correct shade of green, too. Thanks so much! Now if you can just get those Oliver Nelson SMDM scores out on CD!

BTW, I no longer own the Steve Austin action figure, but that glass peacock on the giant TV has moved from my grandparents' home--where that photo was taken--to my own home today. Some things ya just can't get rid of...

You're welcome, Jim! A lot of family photos have faded like crazy while awaiting digital rescue. And while it's true Lee looks good in anything, a little sprucing up never hurts.

Well, with The Six BILLION Dollar Man announced, there may be an interest by Universal to release the original music.

In the meantime Stiks1969 has recreated some excellent work on Youtube

At worst, the Mark Wahlberg movie will be like JJ-Trek: not made for my generation, but must-see because it's one of "my" franchises. At best, who knows? Maybe great.

I can't get to youtube at work due to the firewall.

I've been following Stiks1969 awhile. He recently did a long piece of the theme that incorporates a few versions, including the sound from the first Bigfoot episode. Really pretty good stuff.

I'd love to have an official release. While there are fans who actually watched the show originally, it would be nice to have a soundtrack released.

I would settle for a CDS of STIK1999's cues and from the episode, The Bionic Woman and The Secret of Bigfoot.

Thought I'd bring this up again. It would be beyond awesome if any of our beloved companies could release ANYTHING from the Six Million Dollar Man. It had so much great music throughout... definitely one of the best TV soundtracks ever.
