1. Independence Day
Not that I wasn't already a huge fan of the score to begin with, but with new tracks like "Area 51/The Big Tamale/Formaldehyde Freak Show", "Slimey Wakes Up", and "The Launch Tunnel/Mutha Ship/Virus Uploaded", this was like listening to a whole new score.

2. Batman: The Animated Series, Vol. 2
Not that the first volume wasn't great. The second was just a whole lot more. "Heart of Ice", "Feat of Clay", "The Cat and the Claw", "Shadow of the Bat", "Beware the Gray Ghost", "The Demon's Quest"... Well, now I'm just going to list every score on the album...

3. Alien: Resurrection
I've always had a real liking for this fun and moody, synth-heavy, haunted house-in-space-like score. And as with ID4, this expansion truly added a whole new level of depth to the score as heard in album form.

4. Godzilla
What a wonderful work by David Arnold that needed a release so badly, and amazingly finally got one!

5. Batman: The Animated Series, Vol. 1
Same as above, but this time it's "On Leather Wings", "Pretty Poison", "Two-Face", "Vendetta"...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture, can I get a huzzah?

-Rick O.

huzzah!

"Virus Upload" to the end of "He Did it!" was the highlights for me. I had been wanting forever to hear those outside of the film.

I was about to name

JENNIFER 8 (Young/Jarre) and
BRANNIGAN (Frontiere)

but Mastadge's reply early into the thread reminded me that my actual favourite LLL release is

HUMAN TARGET (McCreary)

The amazing thing about LLL's JENNIFER 8 set is that both discs / scores work great as standalone albums. I couldn't decide whether I like Young's or Jarre's work better on disc. smile

Another vote for ST:TOS box set.

Owned it for eight months now and still listen on an almost daily basis. Nothing else comes close.

An honorable mention to the 3-disc Outer Limits release. That's great too.

Now, if they release a 9-score box set of Williams' six Star Wars and first three Indiana Jones scores, that would bump ST:TOS to the number two spot. wink

The Star Trek TOS box set trumps every single other release in my library. The sheer volume, quality and completeness of it is mind-boggling and enormously satisfying. In one box, they fulfilled a lifelong desire.

No other release will ever hold the same import and meaning for me. So, TOS gets the nod.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Second on my list is the F13 set.

So difficult to even pick just a top 10...

....so I will just mention the amazing Independence Day set again....and also be the first (I think) to raise my glass to the Masters of the Universe release...

....and finally to mention that out of all my score CD's, possibly the one that has had most time in my CD player over the past few years is the wonderful Blazing Saddles.

Thanks to Adam B for reminding me that THE OUTER LIMITS (Dominic Frontiere) was La-La. That's my other favourite, along with the monumentaly mind-boggling ST:TOS which I previously mentioned.

Been trying to think of the answer to this and struggling. I have no single favorite release,

Favorite Box Set:

would probably be Star Trek:TOS or Medal of Honor (even though I already had all the Giacchino scores)

Favorite New Release:

Starhawk, Human Target, The Cape, Scrooged or Copernicus Star

Favorite Expanded Release:

Star Trek V
Star Trek TMP
1941
Hook
Bunch of others I can't think of right now

It's hard to pick a favorite, because all three scores come in at a tie!

# BATMAN (1989) ## BATMAN RETURNS ### BATMAN FOREVER

Even though the "Hook" score is the one that I have been waiting for all my life, it was a huge disappointment in it's presentation. The 4 CD set of Indian Jones is an example of what has been done here..... however, the music itself is fantastic, it is the way the CD was "presented" that bothered me.

However, Star Trek: The Motion Picture is the runner up to my three Batman Scores.

IN NO PATICULAR ORDER ~ Honorable mentions: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier ~ Home Alone #1 ~ and #2 ~ 1941 ~ Star Trek: The Original Series ~ Runaway Train ~ Innerspace ~ The Flash ~ Eraser ~ First Knight ~ Forever Young ~ Scrooged ~ Smallville ~ Trading Places ~ The Golden Child ~ The Phantom ~ The Untouchables ~ It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World ~ The Bodyguard ~ (even though "Greystoke" was the album release, I'm still happy with it!)

Hard to say but here goes.

1# BLACK RAIN - Hans Zimmer

2# THE WARRIORS - Barry De Vorzon

3# POINT BREAK - Mark Isham

4# FRIDAY THE 13th BOX SET - Harry Manfedini

5# TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES - Bear McCreary

    Honerable mention:

Huge kudos to LaLaLand for releasing De Vorzon's score to NIGHT OF THE CREEPS.

I only own two, but I love both of 'em: 55 Days At Peking & the Bernstein western double-bill, so more of that sort of stuff please La-La...oh, & Lethal Weapon any time you like.

However, being a Barry-ite, I have to say I've rarely been so ectastic as when La-La put out FIRST LOVE.

It was their 'The Golden Child' release that brought out that reaction for me. And just to let Thor know, I used the Colombier disc as a coasterwink

Wow. Then I have to tell you that parts of the Colomber score sounds just like 1980s A-ha. So I think you should re-think.
