Ah well. Thanks for letting us know it's not Die Hard 3. Someday, maybe. We hope.

So no 8/14 titles?

No. They're taking a summer break.

MV, any desire on your part to produce a boxed set of proper archival releases for the Dark Knight Trilogy? Maybe after the animated releases are completed?

It's been a year and a half, so things may have changed, but MV indicated this. Emphasis is mine.

How many times has North By Northwest been done anyway? The Rhino release has a substantial amount of music while Varese Sarabande has released re-recordings from Herrmann and Joel McNeely.

The Rhino was certainly a great release for its time, but the DVD music-only track is reputed to have better sound quality, making a re-release of this legendary score somewhat more desirable than usual.

Oh, so it's Jon Brion's score to THE OTHER GUYS, then?

I don't remember The Other Guys having much score (it being mostly rap and pop tracks). If released, it would likely be paired with Brion's Step Brothers.

I think it was just a joke smile.

It does give me the perfect excuse to post this, however:

La-La Land Records: We shall be there (Star Trek Convention - Las Vegas) with plenty of goodies...and perhaps with news of the biggest release in soundtrack history. wink

Oh MV, why do you tease us so!

Very intriguing. Anyone know of the date of said convention?

Yes, it must be something to excite Sci-Fi convention fans, but surely something even bigger and better than Star Trek TOS... perhaps it's the complete SPACE: 1999 Season 1 soundtrack box?

I don't think a Space 1999 would have that big of an impact. Besides, the DVDs (or Blu Ray sets) have an isolated music track on most if not all of the episodes.

The season 2 CD is my favourite of the two 1999 CDs
Season 1 favourites are track track 12 "Gwent", 19 "The Daria", and I was over the moon to find out that to find track 20 "Atonement" (the Sitar track) was on there. I recorded it from a VHS recording back in the 90s. It's a phenomenal track that makes full use of the echo-effect.

Season 2 has a feel all of its own, and makes me feel very comfortable.

If I had to choose, I want the TOS Star Trek, provided that the full "Paradise syndrome" is on there; oh what a shockingly beautiful score it is.
