Well, it's not hard to figure out who one of the bidders is - and he'll be the winner Since there are Buy It Now prices on every other CD they're listing, one wonders if there wasn't one on this, which would beg the question why someone didn't use it. The seller, BTW, since there was a thread about them recently, is the former Heavy Rotation store folks, Pete and Vivian.

If they removed all traces of the pre-existing James Bond theme and this is what they submitted for consideration, isn't this cheating?

>>>>>>>>If they removed all traces of the pre-existing James Bond theme and this is what they submitted for consideration, isn't this cheating?>>>>>>>>> You're not suggesting all other previous Oscar campaigns and wins have been honourable, are you?

Ah, just the $810 it went for(!) $810? That's insane. The score was nominated for the Oscar, so in a week or two LA will be flooded with these when every single Academy member gets one. It's only the scores that don't end up getting nominated, which therefore only go out to the very few members of the music branch, which are really rare.

Love this score. Terrific stuff. Anyone have a correct film sequence of CD tracks? Didn't want to sort through the 17 pages of discussion for it. Skimmed the final few pages but didn't find any track listings, might have missed it. If someone could help out I'd be grateful.

15. Granborough Road (a slightly different version of this track also appears later during the underground pursuit) Yes, the first 32 seconds of the OST edit of "Granborough Road" appear in a cue that should fall between "Health & Safety" and "Tennyson" on your layout. From about 0:32 on, the cue is completely from the scene in the casino where Bond fights the henchman in the pit with the Komodo Dragon. Both cues are on the FYC set that's floating around. The give away is the flute performance that you hear at about 0:34 on the OST track... there's a big, dare I say Ron Burgundy-esque flute flourish there which isn't quite as in-your-face during the subway scene. I actually have this whole track in the later position in my reorder even though it's not "correct." It's interesting that both cues share some of the same DNA like that, though... you wouldn't really call it an action motif, I guess, but it's a musical idea that shows up at a few points throughout, at least. Similarly, "The Bloody Shot" and "Welcome To Scotland" share some DNA too. I attended an Editor's Guild seminar for this picture last winter where editor Stuart Baird said that the pre-credit sequence was shot toward the end of the production and it was "locked" last, along with the big action climax at the end. This might mean that Newman wrote those cues fairly late in the process too, but that's just a guess on my part. I do know that they were working on the sound mix pretty much right up until a few days before the picture premiered, so it might have been pretty down to the wire.

So I finally saw the film! This is one of the best Bond films I have seen, maybe THE best. I have not seen them all, but most of them from the 80s on. Not really a dull moment, with Javier Bardem being just as good as he was in No Country For Old Men. I liked Newmans score too, varied and fitting, with a contemporary edge to it. I'm sure it works on CD too. Not including the Adele song on the album was a total mistake though. Other than that, kudos to everyone involved.

C´mon, you´ll have to start now with the 60´s and 70´s!
