You're being rather circumspect about the ignominious circumstances of Brook's suicide. The tawdry facts can be found at the Wikipedia page on Brooks:

I know, this thread I am just trying to keep it cool with just raw facts. But it's funny I was thinking the same thing this morning, should I say something more or not. MR Brooks apparently had some problems along with other family members as well. Wow.Thanks for giving the folks the info.I would like to keep this info thread going along without being closed down.

While Georges will always be known as a master melodic composer of many diverse styles he also had an incredible ability to offer to the viewer something else, in which he was impeccable at.Gut crunching morbid mood music, 2 perfect examples where there are many. THE 25TH HOUR-67- THE DEATH DIRGE- PLATOON-87-An incredible mood score, that stirs the emotions.

GEORGES DELERUE was a master with another event TRAGEDY-His score for CONTEMPT-63 is just about the most tragic score I ever heard. It reeks it with every note.

As I said in another thread it is such a shame he didn't pace himself better with his working career. he did so much right till the end, under much pressure. Like JOHN CANDY, he probably worked himself to death. He was overweight and at 67 his heart apparently could not take it. One will only be able to wonder what more fantastic music he would have given to the world if he would have stayed active for at least another decade. Strange, is it not? notes. pieces of music. melodies never to be create lying there in a limbo of non creation that would have been create if someone's body didn't fatally fail. Our lives our existence, all that is , such a mystery.

GEORGES DELERUE like other popular French composers of the 60's in the cinema, started out basically doing French films getting art house exposure in America in the 60's leading by the end of the decade in many cases doing major Hollywood films. Such was the case with Delurue. Like the others as well, they would often switch back and forth doing films in France and other countries the rest of their career.

It was one critic who years ago coin the phase for Georges THE MOZART OF FILM MUSIC. Since then many fans have followed suit with such a line.

Another remark from a critic years ago I feel also is hitting it right on the mark with GEORGES. He seems to take the finest aspects of the musical spectrum like a master gardener taking only the best, juiciest, ripest vegetables and fruits from a garden . ditto- ditto.

You forgot to mention his EXOTICA albums, which are far more important than his film scores.

I love how when 2 composers are born the same day, the first stays up for 20 seconds and is then replaced by the other, instead of leaving both names in the title. Way to go!
