Wait a sec....so since the sound file is a rip from the video file, does that mean it has SFX/dialogue/both? I'm not trying to be obtuse, since I dread the answer, but I want to make sure before I plop 25 bucks down for a track with sound effects.

No, apart from the "Write Your Soul" video, there is no dialogue or sound effects of any kind placed over Horner's music in the actual videos.

Thanks so much. I thought a few folks were able to actual download the music and video, but looks like they are having technical difficulties, thanks man for the heads up!

I see you didn't catch my little joke in there (which, while a joke is also completely true, dammit!)

Anyway, it's officially available now.

GO FOR IT!

I just downloaded it and it's pure Horner!!

I wonder since it's $24.99 if that's too off set some of the costs of the production. You know the orchestra, if Horner took a fee, producing the video, shooting/editing it, etc.

Of course it would be pure Horner - that's essentially what he was asked to do, as he says in that video. He was asked to "write your soul".

It's either the production costs, or the general proceeds that might go into the flight team's operations, I've no idea and it's all guesswork with these things.

I bet the cost does go towards the flight team. Its not like Horner needs the money and he most likely did it for the love that he has for not only music but flying. And it is pretty cool. I cant say I would have even heard of the flight team or that website in the first place if it wern't for Avatarded's good word of mouth. So its a solid fund raiser for them at the least.

Just downloaded and watched the vids...what great music! Really felt his passion with these pieces, such a sense of wonder and freedom...that's the Horner I know and love!

Special thanks to the OP for this, would probably never haver heard of it otherwise.

I've just downloaded and listened to this, and have to agree that it is very good (IMHO). Many thanks to Avatarded for pointing it out.

http://www.planeandpilotmag.com/travel/journeys/mustang-mystique.html

Interesting tidbits revealed in this article:

-Horner has been flying at least since age 17

-In addition to being the "fourth Horsemen", he's been actively training and honing his skills so he can follow through with his wish, stated in the "Write Your Soul" video: Flying with the team in his own plane!

He's flown the routine many times before in one of the three planes, so he's clearly got the 'moves' down.

The man just might be a little insane, and it's awesome.

This is great but... I only want the CD.

I don't have $30 for a DVD I'll watch once and a CD with 2 tracks.

They'd get more sales by offering the CD at a reasonable price...maybe $10.00 , the download for $5 - but... $30 , no , no thanks, I mean come on frown

Fantastic!!!! Ordering as soon as my paycheck arrives... that will be pretty long two weeks...
Hope they are both pressed considering their price.

Hate to be "that guy", but anyone else notice a similarity to one of Jerry's themes from PATTON in that video?

OK this finally landed in the UK for me today. I ordered it right away when it was mentioned in this thread (thanks Henry). It cost just over $51 when they added the additional postage. No worries about customs charges since delivery came via a UK distribution agency of some kind.

It's a DVDR and CDR housed in one DVD case, nicely printed. The last chapter of the main hour long documentary features brief Horner interview & footage (about 6 mins worth). The music video in the DVD extras is the 12 minute Flight demonstration music, and is quite spectacular really. Overall an unusual and rather cool addition to the Horner collection, but very expensive...
