This is indeed a dream come true -- thank you to everyone who made this project possible. I recall being in a NYC sneak preview audience back in the day for what I believe was the first public showing of Conan -- quite an audience comprised almost equally of sword and sorcery fans and huge bodybuilder guys. (I seem to recall that several local gyms had sent buses of guys who were avid Arnold fans.) The theater was keeping the doors locked for some bizarre reason -- and I remember the bodybuilders started chanting and pounding on the doors until the management saw reason and let us in. I was in the front of the line so was able to get my preferred 2nd row middle seat. There was so much excitement in the air – cheering and clapping when the lights finally dimmed. And oh lord when the film started and that glorious music started to invade and impinge upon my subconscious I was in seventh heaven. Super gosh wow I'm amazed news!

I have the Varese expanded cd and am very happy with that! The folks who are rejoicing over this release remind me of myself when I heard the complete FAHRENHEIT 451 from TFC. The fact thatit was a rerecording was irrelevant because the rendition was so faithful and complete enjoy! bruce

No, we are not meant to say 'I love you' but a little (more) appreciation goes a long way. Getting these scores released in any form is obviously a labor of love for these guys but I can imagine them going 'There's no pleasing these folks' when after only a few minutes the first one starts complaining that 1) it's not the original score, 2) I don't like the sound, 3) it's too long, it's too short, 4) it's missing 5 seconds and bla,bla,bla... That's what angers me. I started collecting in the eighties and the last years are heaven for me. I can not believe the stuff that is coming out and I am grateful for all these releases. Believe me, I'm all for healthy discussion but I think a lot of us film music enthousiasts (?) underestimate the work that goes in a release like this.

I cannot believe anyone is griping about this re-recording! If you don't like re-recorded scores, DON'T BUY IT!!! Carry on listening to your Milan or Varese issues. This is a brand new, pristine, digitally recorded, symphonically performed soundtrack, one of the best fantasy scores ever written for a motion picture. Enjoy the times you are living in. Sheesh!

Fantastic, ordered immediately! I used to not like much re-recordings, but that changed in the past few years. I've became more tolerant with different interpretations of well known film music to the extent that I have been hearing on a regular basis even a flawled rerecording like "Jaws" (too much reverb, too less emphasis on the two note main theme, alternates [or original versions] of some tracks that are completely different to the film versions) more than the original recording (due to the sound issues of the original). Specially in the case of Tadlow and the Morgan-Stromberg rerecordings we can see that a special degree of care is put in their recordings, and I'm sure I'll love this one. Conan is a longtime favourite of mine - and since a long time I've been posting on these forums, on the several "wish list" threads, that if the original recording of CONAN are damaged a rerecording would be a dream come true (but had little hope to see it actually being done, as I really do not rememeber much "post 80's" soundtracks rerecordings). On the samples they sound great indeed. The only portion that seemed a bit awkyard to me on a first hearing is the start of the main theme, but I'm sure it is only a result of me having being too used to the original recording. On a side note it is good to see that they included a track from Conan the Destroyer, I'd have loved more if it was the unreleased Main Title, but that track is great and I sure hope this score gets a complete rerecording in the future as well. I hope more post 70's "lost" scores deserve their attention, such as Moonraker.

Well, so far there have been none such complaints in this thread. All I can see is people airing whatever general preference they have in relation to this announcement, but I'll be curious to know if you can point me to otherwise. Maybe some complaints will surface when they receive their product and get to evaluate it, and then you're free to disagree if you feel that criticism is somehow unwarranted. No need to create drama out of things in advance, though.

Is there any other way to pay in Tadlow's web instead of PayPal? Why don't you order through SAE?
