I won't be satisfied until I have that missing 25 seconds from LOVE FIELD...

There is actually much more music from Love Field than people realize. ....

NIMH NIMH NIMH NIMH NIMH NIMH NIMH!!!!!

Hopefully we will see it this year. There is so much beautiful music missing from the OST.

Edit: Off the top of my head these musical cues are missing. Most of the music missing are the quieter underscore and most of it comes in the middle of the film.

(1) Mrs. Brisby in Mr. Ages Laboratory
(2) Mrs. Brisby & Ages travel the NIMH underground Labyrinth
(3) Mrs. Brisby meets Justin
(4) The water elevator
(5) Ages escorting Mrs. Brisby to Nicodemus
(6) Jenners evil plans
(7) Under mill boat ride
(8) Jeremy transfixed by Mrs. Brisby's amulet
(9) Auntie Shrew ties up Jeremy/Kids hold guard
(10) Drug Cat/Brisby trapped inside colander

OFF THE Top of your head??????!!!

LOL!

Maybe Varese will release expanded Flint soundtracks to coincide with the Twilight Time's Blu-ray releases (& I wonder how much score is on the Blu-ray isolated music tracks?). I'll keep my fingers crossed when the next Club batch is announced.

just received a note from SAE about the FLINT release!

Anyone want to place bets on the next Goldsmith release?

I'm starting to lose hope that GNP will put out Insurrection complete before the Trek hiatus, so I'm going to guess a complete Dennis the Menace from LLL in Feb/March. On the other hand Intrada has their premiere CD issue of the Flint LP recordings imminent, and the isolated scores on the Blu-rays perhaps mean that Varese will put out a DE of the Flint score original tracks. Then of course there's the small possibility that the long rumored complete Sebastian might see the light of day...

And another one bites the dust! Not one of the few I predicted to be next but at the end of July I wrote:

"Gladiator (rejected) -- Since Intrada put out 2 Days in the Valley maybe they'll tackle this too?"

Turns out I was prophetic and Intrada has given us another rejected Goldsmith score in official form!

So I'm wondering how many more (officially) unreleased rejected Goldsmith scores there are...apparently The Public Eye (guess I should add that to my list?), and also Wall Street if I'm not mistaken? Is that it now?

Warlock (Intrada) -- not sure how much more score there is but I would guess Intrada would eventually get around to reissuing this...

There are cues that are missing synth overlays on the album which are present in the movie (and these also exist on tape not just in the movie), not to mention both the silva/intrada releases date from early 1989 and could benefit from a proper remastering.

With Psycho II & Reincarnation of Peter Proud, in my top 3 of Goldsmith reissues/expansions. smile

In light of Bruce Kimmel's post in this thread about not being able to do The Other because Varese owns it forever, I've moved both it and its companion on disc, The Mephisto Waltz, to the Varese-in-perpetuity list...

Roger said,

"And we'll be knocking out another 5 or 6 Goldsmith titles in the next few weeks. Some revisits, so premieres. Turned into a very Goldsmith heavy season for some reason."

NIMH is indeed one of my top wants; assuming Varese doesn't control the rights maybe we'll see it soon!

You know what? I totally agree. I thought I was the only Goldsmith fan who actually had love in his heart for S*P*Y*S! I especially love the nutty track, "Anybody Got a Key?" with the Russian male vocals and crazy references. It's just wild! Since I haven't seen the film, can you confirm for me that Goldsmith did write/record more score than the 19 minutes Varese included on their Goldsmith at Fox box?

There are some cues that haven't been released:

- the Russian gymnast getting taken (comic tuba)
- Brulard overhearing Sybil's laughter in the next room (nice accordion and piano work)
- Brulard and Sybil try to make love (neat string version of the main theme)
- spying at the restaurant (brief cue with harsh string work)
- Brulard witnesses the drop (drawn out version of the main theme)
- surprised by Lippet's bodyguard
- Griff and Brulard take Lippet's dog (the bouncing synth line from the titles leading to a flute version of the main theme; perhaps my favorite of the unreleased cues)
- checking the punctuation on the letter (the main theme on sax leading to pensive music)
- Griff and Brulard get caught (nice Russian flavored music)
- chaos at the wedding (Russian music overlaid over pipe organ)

I realize that the number of people who like this score is a small one (just you and I, apparently), so it may be a long time (if ever) before S*P*Y*S is considered for a stand-alone release, but I think it's a catchy score.

I'm hopeful for a couple of reasons. No one in the know has said it can't happen. (Held up by copyrights, lost masters etc.) And we are starting to see an influx of complete Goldsmith scores the last few years. Complete ST TMP being the best sign of getting NIMH complete. I'm betting that LLL is working on this.

Thanks for the details. Can you or anyone else chime in on the John Scott score for the international version, which was supposed to play things more "straight"? If it's a good Scott score, perhaps that would increase the chances for release...

Actually, the tapes for BARNABY JONES should exist, for there exists a bootleg
with the "entire" score!

That's news to me; exciting if true!

I'm in the process of updating my original post based on some of the comments made, as well as eliminating Shock Treatment and Fate Is the Hunter based on Intrada's new release!
(I'd said, "as with most things on the set, Varese supposedly released all surviving material on their Goldsmith at Fox box" -- which happily turned out to be untrue.)
