Whale and Ale sounds groovy. I'm not planning an event, been a TOO busy month so I'm letting others do that. Whale has WONDERFUL fish/chips Not sure where I'll be as of yet, though I am NOT planning a big deal like that last. I'm going with the masses
Whale n ale sounds OK but I wasn't too excited about their beer selection the last time. I think my boyfriend and I may go to San Pedro Brewing Co. instead. It is also very close to the theater.
So the non-attending composers' pieces performed will be by Miklos Rozsa, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Jerry Goldsmith, Georges Delerue, Hans Zimmer, Don Davis, Marc Shaiman and Harry Gregson-Williams. So far.
Very cool. I don't have to bump this thread to remind people about the concert. They have the banner alternating with the SAE one at the top of this page now.
So there are a few seats on the 7th row still available albeit all the way to the side, and some nice center ones in the balcony still left. But (WOW!) everything else is gone!
Looks like for the first time ever there will be a red carpet event, early from 7:00 to 7:30PM. "Come welcome your favorite composers as they arrive at the concert."
And at some point there will be a signing. Before and/or after, probably depending on the composers' schedules.
I see there are a few cool center aisle seats in the balcony!
A signing???!!! I'm not going with a ton to get signed. I been so blessed to meet these folks before and get several, maybe one here and there. 42 by Isham, OZ by Elfman if that will even be possible, How To Train Your Dragon 3 disc by Powell if that's possible and a couple by Diego.
i'm all about a signing. have never grabbed powell's before so that's high on the list. and have to get my favorite of any score ever signed if i can, batman returns.

Sorry, Peter but 42 by Isham is a bit excessive. Keep it down to under 5.

LOL LOL Guess I should have clarified the new score that's out
Where are your seats for the Varese Sarabande 35th Anniversary Concert Gala? The only bad seat is no seat. www.gspo.com
...and indeed the entire center is practically gone so it is getting down to if you want to be in the building, buy now. The best seats seem to be in the balcony but I guess I would personally go for those 7th or 9th row seats on the side.
And Morricone, you need to update as Steven Fox just announced Hans Zimmer is attending.
James
Whoa, what?? Lucky bastards! I have almost no more 'big' composers to brag about that I've met in film music events here in Europe, and that you haven't.
You all beat me to it Well drivingmissdaisy, me, is very excited to be able to hear this live and with Zimmer performing
Get your tickets for this MASSIVE concert at www.gspo.com. Folks who can go you really need to make that extra effort TO go as you will be hitting yourself later when we are all talking about it.
Yeah, they should add the theme from Man of Steel. At least he will be on piano not a chugga chugga machine I'm not sure how it would sound if he just got up there and played the Inception chugga noise.
Wow! I am gone on for my anniversary honeymoon and Varese ups the ante! The rare appearance of HANS ZIMMER as he attends and performs has tickets selling crazily!
For those who have come up at the last minute and gotten decent tickets in the past, NOT THIS TIME!
The ones I would take right now are those 4th row balcony towards the center. ...or the 12th row side orchestra.
