"DREDD 3D---Karl Urban commented on a possible sequel, "It's certainly my hope that we get to make more. Clearly it has found an audience. The home video sales for Dredd 3D just went through the roof. I think it sold 650,000 units in the first week." Urban added that he met with "Dredd 3D" writer-producer Alex Garland to discuss a sequel. Urban urged fans to contact Lionsgate, "I think the more people that campaign for it, the more people that email, Twitter and write into Lionsgate and say 'We want to see more of this,' then the more likelihood is that we'll get to see that. We certainly are doing everything we can to ensure that happens." ------------------------------ Some cool news from the other side (courtesy of dragon53), if it comes to pass, that is.
let us have a sequel that dwells into Dredd/Andersen VS The Dark Judges in the highrisebuilding storyline. I have always championed for that as far back as 1994 and reading about Dredd coming to the screen the first time

Dredd was the best movie coming in 2012 i.m.o
I remember reading when the movie originally came out that if they can do the planned trilogy, the Dark Judges will be in one of those movies.
I would hope they *do not* jump into Dark Judge territory right away... there`s plenty (PLENTY) of storytelling to be done in the Dredd universe well before we - in Hollywood fashion? - put the entire world at stake, again.
(That was something else I loved about Dredd: the galaxy wasn`t about to be destroyed by Ma Ma...)
was I the only one that thought it was a nice thing with the corrupted judges in the 2012 movie as a nod to the dark judges as a forthcoming adventure?

I would proffer that that was *not* a nod to Dark Judges, only an incidence of corrupt cops, even amongst MegaCity 1 law enforcement...

Totally agree.
I was floored by how awesome Dredd was when I saw it last year, have watched it multiple times since and have played the score countless times as well.
Just signed the official petition to help get a sequel made!
I really enjoyed discovering this gem on DVD. Uncompromising and gritty. Probably one of the best and truest adaptations of a comic character. Infinitely better than that Stallone POS from the '90s.
I think it's part Mad Max, part Robocop. And all awesome.
