Sigh to bad they didn't add the ... 'the corridor' cue right after the not functioning cue before the final flight ....anyone know why?

Hopefully mine ships soon. I ordered within minutes of the announcement.

Mine arrived today, and I never received a shipping notice! (I'm in Florida.)

So it may just show up without warning. smile

This is good new since I have yet to receive a shipping notice and the Shipment Tracking field in my order remains empty.

I got their canned response when I inquired about my order status last week. I ordered five minutes after they opened the floodgates and still not a peep. First world problems, but I know it will arrive some bright, sunny day.

I know what you mean... "first world problems". With every day it does not arrive, I find myself getting less and less excited about it.

The excitement will return once you hear this expanded version. It really is that good!

I hope so. I received my Crystal Lake Memories blu-ray about 3 weeks after they began shipping. I have yet to open it. The extended shipping delay just left a bad taste in my mouth. What's the point of pre-ordering?

Is the cue actually missing, or is it elsewhere on the release? Perhaps it was tracked...

Chris.

The piece that plays before "Final Flight" ("The Corridor") is actually tracked music from the end of "Repairs". So hence not it being rightfully included.

I got my copy (along with The Abyss) yesterday and I love it!

As much as I enjoy Goldsmith's Trek scores, I hate how he elected to use a more washed out "concert hall" sound for First Contact and onward. The bass drowns out the instrumentation and sounds harsh to my ears. James Horner tends to do this as well. My neighbors hate me when I play these! smile

Got my copy today (Jan 15) and they only shipped it on the 11th. So now my complete scores are complete.

Still waiting on mine but there has been lots of bad weather all over (mostly last week) and it has slowed mail delivery and UPS in several Midwest regions. Hopefully I will get mine tomorrow or Thursday.

In regards to this release's opinions on album mixes vs film mixes, my view on this is that album mixes are fine for the OSTs, but for complete score releases it should be the film mixes.

Also, I have noticed that none of these TNG complete scores have had the liner notes for each track so you can see how each one differs from the OST. Plus, why is the first track labelled "Remus" when the movie starts off on Romulus?

Excellent release - contains all the material missing from the ****. Excellent sound. Definitive alongside the original CD.

Oh, and curiously, Jeff Bond also refers to a cue called "Positronic Signal" in his liner notes. Just saying! :-)

Varese sent me an email saying my copy shipped on Thursday 1/9, but according to the tracking number the package has been stuck in Santa Clarita, CA since 1/10 and hasn't moved. Anyone else experiencing this?

In the meantime, I've sent an email to both Varese and USPS to request status. In the past, Varese has gotten back to me right away so I'm sure they'll do so again.

Anyone who is very familiar with the old release, how is the sound on the new one? Can you notice much of a difference?

Possibly because the theme being played is the Reman theme. Notice how you see very Romulans in the film. Its mostly about the Reman's rise to power.

Plus we get a first shot of Remus (planet) right off the bat before Romulus comes in.

USPS is always slow at updating their tracking. It can take a couple of days for it to update.
