I'm not even done listening to the score for the first time, and I can already tell this is going to be a favorite for quite a while. The main theme hits the right grand/sweeping buttons, and "The Prize is Barsoom" is a great standout track.

I'm guessing you're with Amazon Prime? Mine still says it's getting ready to ship.

It's all on YouTube, but I'm trying to be strong and not listen to the tracks until my CD arrives >_<

I am totally digging this album. Haven't enjoyed a MG score in its entirety this much since Ratatouille. Though somebody please tell the man that the term "reverb" isn't as evil as he thinks it is.

Yes, I have Amazon Prime.

Fantastic disc so far. Stay strong, wait for the CD...that is what I did.

Entertaining album all around except for the rather dull recording (which isn't much of a surprise).

It sounds really nice, but it is hard to really give it a good listen at work...I will have to give it a spin tonight with some headphones. But so far I think this has a head start as my favorite of the year.

While it's not spectacular at least it's a bit more spacious than previous Wallin recordings. IMO, it's his best recording since Ratatouille.

Man. I still don't have an update that it's shipped or anything. VERY tempted to just cancel it.

YOR is impressed on how good this score is.

And YOR, believe, is not easy to impress.

Giacchino give us all hopes that film music will came back to its glorious days, before Zimmer and his pets turned it into a wasteland of drones and unbereable walls of bombastic noise.

I don't know if that's a joke, but if not, you got hosed!

Well, there we go - cancelled from Bestbuy (they had it changed to 'backorder' and didn't even send me an email to let me know!) and went with Amazon. Hard to beat them in terms of service. I should have it in a few.

Well, ain't that a kick in the nuts? Thanks for the heads up, though. I'll remember to never pre-order anything from Best Buy. Fortunately, one of our local Best Buy stores has the CD in stock, so I stopped by and picked one up. Gonna pop it into the CD player now.

Anyone in the San Diego area who wants this CD today should check out the Best Buy store in Mission Valley, but call first, because they only had a few copies in stock. The in-store price tag is the same as online ($9.99).

I pre-ordered from Best Buy too and it's now listed as "backordered." I'll never desert Amazon again. I won't cancel the order though - I'm going to force Best Buy to honor the purchase - but I did just download the MP3 version from Amazon. I just couldn't say no to $3.99 and it'll tide me over until the physical product arrives, which by the look of things won't be until well after I've seen the movie this weekend.

My local Best Buy store (Montclair CA) had copies in stock so I canceled my online order and bought it there.

I'm trying to decide between the disc and the MP3s. The $4 digital price is trying to tempt me, but I have so much Giacchino on DISC (which looks lovely together on my shelf! razz) that I hate to end it now ... I think in this case it comes down to packaging / liner notes. Can anyone who has the disc vouch for the liners are being informative / REALLY pretty, and worth getting for that? (Or even post a quick photo?)

I'm crazy-excited to hear this one, but think I'll try to hold out until the midnight IMAX showing.
