I wasn't there when the remastered DVDs were put together but my understanding is that the original music elements would not have been accessible when those were made. But don't quote me on that. I suspect that's the reason they had to switch a few things there.

Seeing the style of announcement, with signing up for updates/response evaluation etc, I'd expect the next step might be an offer of a saving opportunity for early buyers. In other words, commit to purchase well ahead of time and save some dollars. I'd be ok with that.

And yes, Jeff Bond is happy.

So this really is a "Bond" release, as the Bond fans predicted. Are you really 50, Jeff? wink

Regarding the confirmation e-mail. Got mine right away. You all should check your spam filter.

I'd think it would've gone to my junk folder, but nothing there either. I'm on Hotmail, anyone else using Hotmail get theirs?

Not only no, but HELL NO.

No response email to my hotmail account either.

I'll be getting this set. I have the HD episodes. Season One on HD DVd and seasons 2 and 3 on Blu ray.

Well, with this set my truly last "Holy Grail" is there ( after waiting for it nearly 30 years)!

I remember the many discussions here on board, that a complet set would be not possible because GNP holds the rights on several Episodes they released before and that such set would`nt sell well, and so on.

So its great to see that those people finaly managed to cooperate together to make this wounderfull set possible!

A special Thanks to Neal Norman (the "Pionier" of releaseing the ST original tracks, nearly 30 years ago), who indeed was willing to cooperate.

By the way (and as Jeff Bond mentioned here before):
Hold your Label X and Varese re-recordings, they defenetly are a nice addition to the original-recordings, because they all sounds little bid different.
Specially the Label x Volumes are more like concert-suits, with different tempo and arrangment and are allways a nice listening experience!
I remember exactly, that I was a little bid dissapointed, as the two Volumes were released (ive get the LP`s in the 80`s), because they arent sounding like the music i actually heard in the TV-episodes.
But since a few years I can really enjoy them BECAUSE they are so different than the original recordings.

Anyway, THANKS again for bring us this box.

IT MAKES ME REALLY HAPPY
(and Iam shure, many many old-hearted ST + OST - Fans too).

Just where the heck is the Mailing List link on their web page?

Either we page is struggling or the page needs flash (I just tried looking on site via iPad and only got the left menu bar)

As to the release, wow. It sounds stunning and I look forward to it. Thank you GNP for participating in this release. (I was beginning to wonder if part of the announcement would by LLL buying GNP)

I know we all keep saying it, but what an amazing time to be a collector. Time to start saving those pennies.

Oh, I tried using internet explorer rather than Firefox, and there it is. Thanks!

This is just INCREDIBLE.

I didn't think anyone was going to top releasing Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 2012.

THEY JUST DID!

I have loved this music ... FOREVER!

Thanks everyone.

A massive undertaking from La-La & co; Aside from the 'Cable Guy' quote (the Kirk Spock fight), I'm largely unacquainted with the TOS scores, any episodes that are worth checking out solely for score?

. . . But don't quote me on that . . .

Oh, say, speaking of not quoting you, do you recall what it was that turned out to be biggest obstacle or obstacles, over the years, to finally having a wonderful release like this? We all know it wasn't the rights . . .

As everybody hates me already, I'll say humoristically that I'm looking for glitches and snaps that aren't there.
On a little more serious note: I'll definitely be getting this. I'm just a tad worried how they're going to pack it so it wouldn't get damaged on its way here to Finland. Bring on the hate with questions like 'Why is this Finnish guy again putting a negative spin on things'. Well, I ordered my Friday 13th box from moviemusic.com so there was no problem there, but my Medal Of Honor box (ordered directly from LLL) went to France because my address was written otherwise correctly but instead of Finland they had written France, and my Batman: Animated Series 2 box (ordered directly from LLL) was damaged, all the discs were bouncing back and forth inside the box, all the CD holders were broken. And by all I mean all. So that't why I'm worried. But I'm happy about the release.

Probably one of the most important film music releases in soundtrack history on several levels.

For once wise cracks fail me. I'll settle for: thanks and congratulations to La La and all involved.

Bravo.
