please, no more music from the last two seasons. it was the X-FILES in name only bruce Yeah I'd disagree with that completely, particularly in the creation of Scully's theme. There is some great stuff from the last two seasons -- and Scully's theme is definitely one of them. I was thrilled that they inlcuded music from the season 9 episode, "Release," on the Volume 1 set.

Any news on when Volume 2 will get released? Very excited about this one! LLL had indicated towards the beginning of the year that they would have four "box sets" in 2012, one for each quarter. The first was February's Friday the 13th, the second was Batman: The Animated Series in the summer. With Star Trek just announced, it appears that X-Files is a likely candidate for boxset #4 - since Star Trek likely isn't coming out until November, it's possible that we'll see X-Files in the next few months (as the "third quarter" release). Just a guess, of course. Here's what LLL said (posted by Giacchino-fan in the 'LLL News' thread 16 April 2012): "Box sets: We do plan on having at least 2 more "box-sets" coming out this year (ala Friday the 13th and Medal of Honor). Two other 4 disc sets originally planned to be housed in "boxes" will no longer be housed in said boxes. FSM's recent Ben Hur looks great without one and so will these releases. We feel a "box set" should consist of more than just 4 cds. It should be something special -- an event release -- and when we have a concrete idea as to when these sets will be coming out we will let you know far in advance like we did with Friday the 13th. They will be pricey, so you should be able to get a heads up on saving your bucks." They're differentiating between box sets and 4-CD sets. They've released BATMAN: TAS 4-CD set and confirmed that STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE will also be a 4-CD set. THE X FILES, VOLUME 2 will be a 4-CD set (and housed in a slipcase to match Volume 1 -- I didn't copy that part). The DS9 set has been confirmed for this year and THE X FILES is rumored to be coming out this year. LLL's comment makes it seem as if there's another massive set coming out in addition to their just-announed STAR TREK: TOS set and all of the aforementioned 4-CD sets.

Can you remember how the first volume got pushed back and back again. Maybe its the same problem here. I don't think it's the will of LaLaLand or Mark Snow but the licensing and approval of the artwork and everything around. Lets hope the best, so that we can hold the 2nd Volume in hands at least at Christmas this year. And no "Release Thriller" like the first volume from summer - to fall - to spring - to summer - to next summer - to fall - to May 2011 Let me just clear this up -- the first volume did not get pushed back -- Mr Snow let the beans spill a year early on this project and we had to deal with the fan repercussion. As for Volume 2, it will be arriving first quarter 2013. This Trek Set has taken up a lot of our time and financial resources and projects like X Files Vol 2 had to be pushed back to a later date. The only remaining "box sets" you can expect from LLL in 2012 are DS9 and TOS. MV

The only remaining "box sets" you can expect from LLL in 2012 are DS9 and TOS. MV This is still the greatest news ever! I cannot wait for the DS9 set -- something I've wanted for years and years and years. And I've registered for the other set as well. What an insane year it's been for LLL.... And whenever THE X FILES, VOLUME 2 gets released, I'll be on board for that one as well. Kudos all around.
