I got my CDs today as well. I was suprised that I got an autographed copy of Police Academy even though I placed my order after the deadline! I was disappointed however when I opened my Superman Returns and found the image on the first CD upsidedown!

So listening to my copies of Lethal Weapon....FANTASTIC JOB. Really the best release ever for me and that's saying a lot because LLL is my main squeeze for soundtracks. So glad I got this in early! Nice job LLL!

My shipment arrived today too (an even bigger surprise in my case because I still don't entirely understand why the USPS is delivering on Sundays!). I bought POLICE ACADEMY and the LETHAL WEAPON box… LETHAL WEAPON is a tremendous set. I was mostly interested in the score for part 2 (the best of the series, I think), and part 4 (the worst of the franchise, and possibly the worst movie ever produced). I work in post-production in Los Angeles, and there are still stories going around about the sheer insanity of the tight schedule under which LW4 was put together. Ultimately, it's clear that the finished film contains sections of score from the previous movies… I'll be really interested to dig into what Kamen wrote and compare it to what I remember from the (again, horrid) movie. I had LETHAL WEAPON 2 on for most of the night, however, which sounded amazing. The added material is really intense and interesting… I liked the OST, but felt that it didn't really represent the feel the movie itself that well, if you know what I mean. And might I add, I'm happy that LLL sprung for the songs… the soundtrack for 2 in particular wouldn't be the same without that great George Harrison song at the end (and the Beach Boys tune as well, actually). POLICE ACADEMY likewise sounds fantastic, and it's music I've wanted practically my whole life. Man, that recording of "El Bimbo" is so good. I'm straight, but I have family members and several close friends who are part of the LGBT community… That was my first introduction to the gay community: when John Ritter would act extra fruity to avoid getting evicted each week on THREE'S COMPANY, and then whenever a character would stumble into the Blue Oyster Bar during any given POLICE ACADEMY movie and this recording of "El Bimbo" would start up. Ridiculous caricatures, both, but the music really takes me back. A question, though… so LLL put out 1 disc of POLICE ACADEMY and 8 discs of LETHAL WEAPON in one batch? Why didn't they just do Robert Folk's NATIONAL LAMPOON'S LOADED WEAPON 1 and save a lot of effort? They could have saved the manufacturing costs on EIGHT WHOLE DISCS, man!

The Shipyard (Like the first two minutes of this better than the film version Stilt House Falls I am reliably informed that there is no "film version." The first two minutes of "The Shipyard" is "Helicopter Attack"; the OST title was a misnomer. Well no, but if you listen to Stilt House Falls, it's an alternate version of The Shipyard from the album which is what I am referring to.

It took only four days to arrive from the US to The Netherlands. Amazing! Thank you, La-La Land! Frank: Does the signed booklet come seperately or is it the only booklet provided? I remember getting the X-Files Volume 1 set with cover slide in signed and the booklet was as is. Amer, I got a separate one signed, there is another sealed inside the CD case. I also got a seperate one signed.
