You know, between Star Trek II, Star Trek III and Twilight Zone: The Movie, FSM has definately been keeping me unbelievably happy with regards to holy grails and presentation.

Thanks Lukas and Company, all those who put their souls into these releases.

Star Trek II was a big hilight of last year, and Star Trek III is probably the big hilight of this year.

I am so glad that FSM got to do both of the Horner releases for Star Trek. They will be fantastic sitting on the shelf next to each other, and the music will be played a LOT !!!

The best thing about this is combining WOK and SFS complete into one continuous playlist. They were meant to go together!

I agree there. In many ways, they are both two movements in a greater whole.

I remember years and years and years ago imagining the day when an expanded Star Trek III release would hit. And now that day is here!

FSM are pretty much man-gods to me at this point. Can you make an expanded Star Trek V happen? So much great Goldsmith there.

Landstander, the word on the street is that STAR TREK V is coming from another label.

And welcome to the board...

Isn't Trek V still just rumor and speculation at this point?

I know some of us (myself included) have mentioned La-La Land only because they have deals with both Paramount and Sony. But so do Intrada and FSM, so who knows? MV said they would have a Goldsmith title coming out this year (it could be anything) and all of FSM's Goldsmith titles are accounted for (unless Lukas plans on surprising us after Outland and Poltergeist are released). smile

That's what I meant when I said, "word on the street." It's unconfirmed, but there's a persistent rumor.

Ya know, as soon as I wrote my comment, I thought, "Yeah, that's why he said that." smile

Thank you for releasing this!!! Star Trek III was one of the first scores I listened to in the late eighties and at least in part I attribute my passion for film scores to Horner's Star Trek III.

This completes my odyssey.

Now I have the cheesy pop versions of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, The Right Stuff, Close Encounters, The Natural, and now Star Trek III. I hope I still fit in my white bellbottoms.

Listening to the film version of this score is really an amazing experience. I'd always considered this one of Horner's lazier efforts. But just going through the 30-second samples reveals some really fine, complex writing. It is so cool---and rare---to feel whiplash from changing one's mind about something so quickly.

As with Star Trek II, I look forward to popping this into the player and hitting the "Repeat" feature for a couple weeks.

Awesome release. I hope you sell a million of 'em.

Anyone remember what Lukas posted on the STAR TREK II thread?

He said he would try to do STAR TREK III.

Obviously, Lukas decided to emulate Yoda... Do or do not, there is no try.

Sorry to reference Star Wars on a Star Trek thread but hey we're all celebrating greatness here.

Thanks Lukas! wink

Maybe FSM should just release all their music as downloads, 0.99$ per track, with online notes. it...

Boy, you is in the wrong message board.
this is strictly a NO DOWNLOAD ZONE!
Now Get the hell outta here!

have a nice day
