Isn't Picard's Mambo was an Alan Silvestri piece?

-Rick O.

From the film's IMDb soundtrack section:

"Make Over Mambo"
By Alan Silvestri

The film or project it is from, is unspecified. I did a search and it appears to be from "Soapdish" (titled "Makeover Mambo"; sometiems IMDb contributors don't enter entries properly).

Lukas, could you tell me if the booklet will have the track-by-track liner notes? I think many people here would prefer it if it did.

Odd that they would not have included a second disc with the original album remaster. Disappointing.

They were damned if they did, and damned if they didn't.

Expected this would match their release of STFC - single disc of pretty much what we got in the film. It will be good - looking forward to the climactic battle music.

John Takis has posted on his Facebook page that his track-by-track notes will be available online, which is no surprise since that is what happened with First Contact and Generations.

Very thrilled this is coming. It's a really nice score with great action cues and beautiful pastoral passages.

We had to keep our old First Contacts too, I guess, for the songs and enhanced content, so no biggie....

Yeah, I just swapped the single disc case for a 2 CD holder and there ya go.

Another ST release. I am sooo excited. But I haven't listened to the DSN set yet. I have so much Trek don't know what to do with. This is a dream come true....

They probably knew they would be.

If the differences are just edits and not actual alternates to the music, than I don't really care. But if they are actual alternates they didn't include... Its called consistency. If their reasoning was, well, Insurrection is still in print that's a little lazy, IMHO. Generations had both presentations.

I'm still buying it nonetheless. I never liked how the original album of Insurrection sounded. Hopefully the new release sounds better.

I too don't understand why Generations would get both versions bundled together, and Insurrection wouldn't. I don't like the inconsistency.

The only complaint I have is that any tracks that are different on the original GNP are not included, even if it takes a 2CD set, meaning if I'm too fond of those, I can't trade it off or sell it. And I have two spaces taken, where as a 2CD set would have been in one clam case.

I think Ford spoke up at the time about the Generations presentation when somebody asked. I don't recall the answer. I may not even be remembering correctly.

Crescendo still has on hand lots of stock of the original Insurrection CD whereas for Generations they did not. This is one of those practical things that makes sense so I hope people support the decision, as I do.

...Sometimes I wonder why anyone goes to the bother of releasing any score in any format; I also wonder why some can't just appreciate what they are getting (or hold off on commenting on it until they actually have the damn thing and have listened to it) rather than nit-picking away, sometimes before the thing is even announced!

Sometimes all I can say is (aka SNL), "Really?"

Ford is right, Life can be a bitch at certain times, and with Trains exploding and wiping out a large portion of a town's population in Quebec; a flood of the millennia taking out my city recently, Life has been very, very bitchy of late. With that in mind, is really seems a tad silly to complain about a cd that hasn't even been released yet, or that your shelf will have two spaces filled rather than one - Really?

Labels, why do you bother (I'm grateful that you do), but why, really?

That is all people do on this board is bitch rather than appreciate score's being released.

If you already own the original CD, sure, you could sell it. And you'd be lucky to get $1 for it. While making this a 2CD set would likely raise the price by $5. If you don't already own the original CD (and that probably accounts for .0001% of people ever likely to read this thread), you can buy it for about $1, and you've saved $4 by this not being a 2CD set.

Doesn't seem like a problem to me.

But it has been announced. And its my money. And like I said, I'm still buying it. But I'm allowed to complain as a paying customer. As much as Mr. Producer thinks we should just be grateful we get anything. Our money funds these releases and future releases.

Right, so basically this decision was made because they have plenty of the original Insurrection available. Sorry, I have a huge amount of respect for you Lukas, but that might have been the best business call, but as a fan service it sucks.
