Did you ever end up hearing back from the seller on the origin of these? All I can imagine is that they were part of some wholsale order that was forgotten about until it was found later, maybe when cleaning out a closed up shop or something.

See my post above from Dec 17th

I AM SO SORRY EVERYONE.

It was convinced these were real. I did not notice that the Ghostbusters CDs were bogus until someone pointed out the error to me, in the track listings. WE GOT ONE reads on the version I got as WE GET ONE, and CROSS RIP reads as GROSS RIP - I did not notice as every other detail seemed to be accurate.

I am currently going through eBay now to get this resolved....

Just for the record I have checked my Knight Rider track listings with the picture on the FSM product page and it's a match.

So while GB is a bootleg I cannot find evidence that KR is. He has sold 39 of them, however.

Some years ago I bought a counterfeit version of Varese's The Thing from a seller on Amazon. It was really well made, but the CD insert was slightly different and the CD seemed like transparent in front of a source of light. The silver layer of the CD was probably thinner.

Here are images of the Ghostbusters CD - the serial no. on the CD itself appears to match the original - hence why I was fooled - and overlooked analyzing the track names in detail.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

If any label announces a new edition, mastered better and this time complete, I'll let my Varese copy go for a rather cheap price.

These Ghostbusters CD's are an extremely clever and well done fakes. The BIG give away is that the jewel case is made of a thinner plastic and is not the same design or thickness as the Varese cases.
I returned the item to the seller and received a refund from PayPal. I made EBay aware of the situation but they didn't seem to care and passed the buck onto Paypal.

That is a boot. I received an identical one in the post years ago (shortly after it sold out). The seller was obnoxious. When I brought it up with him that it was boot he said "you got the music, so what's the problem?".

There are also very well made boots of Transformers:The Score on eBay too which have now filtered onto Discogs. I got my money back in the end. In general if you see a seller on eBay with a large number of CDs of a rare score, you should avoid.

I also received refunds for the Deep and Knight Rider.
