Lone Ranger stands way above the rest of those worst pictures named by Razzies.
Once again, it is not a perfect picture, but it is pretty underestimated.

For the first year in memory, they didn't chose the single WORST MOVIE I have every had the displeasure of seeing in 2013.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD!!!

Nothing on this list comes close to how awful that film was....

Sorry to hear it, though I respect their vision and their decision. JUSTIFIED has been one of those rare crime dramas that has worked comfortably with the nuances of its characters, showing both the flaws of the good guys and redeeming qualities in some of the bad guys. Elmore Leonard had a lot to do with the high quality of the series, one of my favorites. I will miss it, unlike some other series to which I've been addicted (like DEXTER) which lost their brilliance a year or two before they mercifully pulled the plug. I particularly enjoyed the season that featured Margo Martindale as a Ma Barker type crime boss, Harlan County style. Martindale is now in just about everything, and deservedly so. I look forward to the remainder of the series and will likely revisit it in a "binge watch" or two over the coming years

I guess I wont go out of my way for that one. I have been a big Die Hard fan for a while, never managed to see this last one though. Oddly I think that they are better from 1st to last pretty much in perfect order, so I guess this one, being last, it appropriately the worst. (For a while I was against Die Harder, but it has won me over)

Ashton Kutcher--JOBS

Gotta disagree with this. The movie was surprisingly good (especially in a world of schlock super hero spin-offs) and Ashton Kutcher gave a pretty good performance. This is where the Razzies go 'knee jerk' just out of spite, IMNSHO.

The rest of what I saw listed looks like pure grade A crap though.

They do that every year, it seems like.

How did they pass up on "Getaway" for nomination of worst film of the year?! It was universally panned by everyone, and has the lowest rated score on Rotten Tomatoes. Likewise Selena Gomez will probably get worst actress of the year for said film.

Olympus Has Fallen was the single worst movie I saw all last year. Completely inept filmmaking and special effects that looked like they belonged in a PlayStation 2 video game, at best.

That said, The Lone Ranger is pretty much as bad as its reputation suggests. Very little in that film that I liked.

I said this at another forum a long time ago, but if Stallone took a year off, these guys would not know what to do with themselves.

And nominating LONE RANGER for Worst Picture (especially with far worse films released last year) = picking on a fat kid. Shameful.

I unknowingly rented this becuz Ethan Hawke is in it, and I've liked most of the B grade crime dramas he's done. Suffice it to say I lasted approx 10 mins, then hit eject. It was me who had to "Getaway" from "Getaway". smile

Pain & Gain is worse than all of those movies COMBINED.

I couldn't make it more than 30 minutes... it was staggeringly bad. From the beginning, the tone of the picture was off... when McClaine is introduced, he isn't the same character we've known... the first big action scene was all shaky cam and despite the jumpy camera and frantic editing, was just dead in the water.

However the Beltrami score is flat out wonderful and the CD is highly recommended. So you don't have to watch the movie big grin

No, it's not. The Rock's performance alone elevates it.

I detested Pain & Gain, a movie that tells a true-life story about a pair of nitwit criminals who kidnapped, extorted, and murdered several people and has a scene where the deceased have their hands lopped off and cooked on a grill to remove the fingerprints...and this scene is treated as SLAPSTICK FARCE. Fuck this movie, and fuck Michael Bay for glamorizing the criminals as famous Hollywood stars and depicting their victims as schlubby, obnoxious cartoons who "deserve" what they get.

I can't say I'm surprised or in disagreement with "The Lone Ranger" being on the list.

I was very put off by how the filmmakers treated such beloved fictional characters as fodder for parody. The end result was nothing more than lame satire. Not to mention the fact that, for a Disney movie, the sheer amount and realism of the deaths depicted was an absolute disgrace.

Additionally, for a guy who has enjoyed most of Johnny Depp's work, I must say I'm very tired of seeing him (though not as tired I am of seeing Helena Bonham Carter). And it bugs me to no end that there are probably countless actors out there who could have played Tonto that actually are North American Aboriginals.

(Ironically, I quite liked Armie Hammer's performance. I suppose it was because, whether by accident or design, he played it fairly straight while everyone else was too busy mugging for the camera.)
