So now another video label is going the "limited edition" route, although the Amazon listing says nothing about that. Amazon also lists the running time at 95 minutes, which must be for the expanded English-language version, since the original U.S. theatrical version ran about 90 minutes. I saw THE BIG GUNDOWN around 1972, on local broadcast television, on a 12-inch B&W portable TV, panned-and-scanned and edited to fit into a 90-minute slot. And I've never seen it since. So, really, you might as well say that I haven't seen it at all. But that viewing made me buy the soundtrack LP, and after 40 years of repeated listening to it and its CD versions, I feel as if I know the film.

I have the German Koch (Italian-only) DVD, but this will be a must-have for me.
