I've just started Emerald City, which I watched mainly because I was curious to see how Tarsem's visuals would translate to TV. Unfortunately an hour in it's all very bland, including Trevor Morris' score. There are some nice backdrops that remind of the good old days of matte painting though. And Vincent D'Onofrio sure is in frickin' everything these days, isn't he?

Detectorists - really nice gentle comedy about metal detectorists and their club. Some great stuff in it but all very low key. Really amiable lead characters played by Mackenzie Crooke and Toby Jones.

The Disney Channel's Bizaardvark, a pretty funny sitcom about a team of teenage uploaders, some episodes of which are directed by David Kendall (Lukas' cousin).

I started watching Transparent and 6 or 7 episodes into the first season I am really enjoying it. It has the occasional laugh and overall just a great vibe to it. Characters feel very realistic.

Game Of Thrones series 6, after that, Fargo series 1, then Deadwood complete, then Black Sails series 1&2, Spartacus series 1-4, then...well there's a ton of box sets to go, & Bones last ever series starts at the end of the week & I hope The Walking Dead series 7 improves when it comes back next month, just as well a social life is a thing of the past.

I saw the first 2 episodes if The Man in the High Castle and liked it a lot. Hopefully it lives up to it's promise. Lots of potential and an interesting world.

I tried Black Sails but the first episode ended with such a blood splattered crushing heads fist fight I haven't gone back to it. Is it worth continuing, or is it another pay cable gore porn series?

I watched Black sails from the beginning. First two series were ok. Just started series 3 i think and im getting a bit lost with which captain with which crew and who is sailing where and its getting a bit samey.
So often these things start out ok but just seem to run out of ideas and become convoluted and a bit lost.

Walking dead back tonight. Lets hope the half season isnt another brilliant first and last episode with dreary-ish tedium inbetween.

Fortitude has started series two a bit messy. Im not sure ive got the patience to wait five episodes before i find out whats going on.

Conviction i gave up on.

Even Blacklist is prolonging the story and disappearing up its own arse.

Just call me Rory2!!

Your so right on about this. I can't tell you how many series start out with a great premise, but quickly goes down hill because they don't know where to take the story. Or they write themselves into a corner and just "reboot" the whole thing in the middle of the series.

Watched 2 series of The Man in the High Castle and enjoyed it immensely.

Watched an Agatha Christie 3 parter from 2015 - Then There Were None which was very good. Makes me want to see some old movies or read a few of her books.

Rewatching Columbo series 1-7. Love it!

Not forgetting Rachael Stirling.

I finished watching Game Of Thrones S6 yesterday, great season & two fantastic last episodes, the production design & photography are phenomenal on this show. It all seems set up now, I'd think one last ten part series could tie it all up, but I understand there's two more to come. I understand S7 is a short one (7 eps?) & S8 will finish it off.

The next box set to watch is either Black Sails or Fargo S1, or re-watch Rome.

Okay I guess no one's watching Santa Clarita Diet!

.....

I'm just finishing up the 2-season run of Extant with Halle Berry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Getting ready to start The Good Wife.

Is Hatfields & McCoys good? I love westerns and Bill Paxton and Kevin Costner when he's in a western.
