I discovered the music of William Joseph while watching an episode of Dr. Phil a couple of weeks ago. Joseph performed the title track from the abovementioned album, as well as another piece entitled 'Asturias'.
After the show, I immediately rang my local music store, and interrogated them as to the availability of the album. It wasn't in-stock, but I did have a copy imported. It arrived a couple of days ago, and I've been listening to it a great deal since.
Of interest to film music fans will be an interpretation of the Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso. I never considered the piece to be tragic, but Joseph manages to interpret the piece in such a way that puts the listener through the emotional wringer. It's truly haunting, and you won't easily forget it. Another point of interest for film music fans is that William Ross arranged and conducted the orchestra for the recording.
Here are some YouTube clips of William Joseph in action:
Can't stop listening to this terrific new album. Easily Springfield's best work since his most well-known '80s material. "I'll Miss That Someday" is my favorite out of the songs, though they're all good.
