Anyone got any plans for this Friday? Hopefully they will turn out better than hers...

A lot of people disliked and/or hated the 2009 entry of Friday the 13th. I LOVED the 2009 version, or as I like to call it Friday the 13th Part XIII. I thought the kills were brutal: Trent's death, Chelsea's death, poor Lawrence's ax-to-the-back and stomp-through-the-front, and I still cringe when I watch poor Chewie take a spike to the throat, gurgling blood...yikes. You actually cared about characters in this one too: I was very sad when Jenna got killed, a real shocker moment that said anything could happen. I'm a huge Supernatural fan so I thought Padalecki was solid. The girls were hot (hello Bree!) and Jason was so menacing. No, Jablonsky's score was no Manfredini achievement but it still was brutal, haunting, and effective. The movie also made great use of Crystal Lake, which a lot of later F13 films did not. Finally, I loved the penultimate shot of all of the places where the young kids had partied and subsequently been slaughtered, set to Jablonsky's haunting music...what were once fun, carefree settings were rendered bloody and trashed from the massacre. It was almost as if it were a ghost town, Jason had come to remove the bodies, leaving questions and inducing chills in whatever campers or partiers were to stumble upon the scene of the massacre in future days... I could have done without the extra doses of humor and would've liked many more ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma's...I could have done without the abundance of songs in the movie to market a soundtrack CD and I can't stand the actor Jonathan Sadowski. But anyway, since when was any Friday the 13th film without a number of flaws? Can't wait for Friday! Am going to try a marathon but since I'm working so much it'll probably be spread out over several days.
