It was directed by Henry Levin (MURDERERS’ ROW, THE AMBUSHERS) and features the only score for a western by British composer David Whitaker (HAMMERHEAD, VAMPIRE CIRCUS). Here’s 3 minutes of his score, which has never had any release:
Nice theme from DAVID, I like the tag line on the bottom of the poster, ON SUNDAYS THEY HARDLY KILLED ANYBODY. Also the M rating, the one rating that only lasted a few years.
On Wednesday, October 2nd, at 4:15 PM ET, Turner Classic Movies will be showing the classic Sergio Corbucci western THE MERCENARY. This 1968 film stars Jack Palance, Franco Nero, and Tony Musante, and features a great score by Ennio Morricone. Here’s the film’s main theme:
Only within the past year has THE MERCENARY had any decent release on Region 1 DVD. TCM is promising a showing in the film’s original Techniscope ratio.
On October 3rd, during the Wednesday-Thursday overnight, at 3 AM ET, Turner Classic Movies will be running the little-seen, true-life crime drama DR. CRIPPEN. DR. CRIPPEN was shot by famed cinematographer and director Nicholas Roeg. The film has never had a U.S. video release on any format.

TCM on WEDNESDAY OCT-16 will show a very rare cable showing of I AM CURIOUS- YELLOW[NOT BLUE]. A 1969 film with blue which was very profitable and controversial back then.
TCM continues it's salute to genre films in October on EARLY MONDAY MORNING THE 14TH with the following vampire pics-NOSFERATU-22-That famous classic silent effort that pretty much started the cinema vampire film. A sub genre of the horror genre which is one of the most constant genre in film history WOW, think about it, 91 years ago.. This early one is a silent classic with a vampire who has a face only a mother could love-VAMPYR-32-Stylish early sound effort made right after DRACULA became a smash. Worth checking out, was very obscure years ago. VAMPIRE BAT-33- DWIGHT FRYE steals the show in this slightly dated but still good effort, THE VAMPIRE-57[MARK OF THE VAMPIRE], Top notch tight knit character study which is different and entertaining. ENJOY.

Funny. I spent a month in London in 1969 and decided to see I AM CURIOUS YELLOW, and thought it was a pretty lousy movie. Frankly, I wished I hadn't thrown money away on seeing it.
