TCM ON OCTOBER 4TH BEGINS THEIR FRIDAY NIGHT HORROR MARATHON FOR OCTOBER- HERE IS THE LINEUP FOR THIS NIGHT- CARNIVAL OF SOULS-62- One of the great low budget genre films of all time. Everything works here making this a spooky eerie thought provoking effort. With the great thought when one feels they have been deny so much in life they will fight like a banshee not to face their destiny in the next,----------------------------NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD-68-Cult classic which has sprung a semi genre into itself, with the thought even a so called hero lands up making the wrong decision everytime.-----------TESTAMENT DES DR MABUSE DAS-33-Seldom seem neat film worth checking out, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN- 35- A JAMES WHALE CLASSIC which is far superior to the original and proves how important a film score can be. FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN-67- Top notch film with PETER C and JAMES B delivering the goods.-THE WASP WOMAN-59-A tender tale of a white anglo saxon protestant who gets stung by a bee[ha-ha]-----ENJOY.

Nice theme from DAVID, I like the tag line on the bottom of the poster, ON SUNDAYS THEY HARDLY KILLED ANYBODY. Also the M rating, the one rating that only lasted a few years.

On October 3rd, during the Wednesday-Thursday overnight, at 3 AM ET, Turner Classic Movies will be running the little-seen, true-life crime drama DR. CRIPPEN. This 1963 film stars Donald Pleasence as the title character, a London physician who is charged with the murder of his wife. Coral Browne and Samantha Eggar co-star. The film was directed by Robert Lynn, a television director in Britain who graduated to features in 1961. But Lynn was better known as an assistant or second-unit director on everything from HORROR OF DRACULA (1958) to SUPERMAN (1978).

DR. CRIPPEN was shot by famed cinematographer and director Nicholas Roeg. The film has never had a U.S. video release on any format.

One I'd like to see again on cable is "The Incredible Shrinking Man" starring Grant Williams and Randy Stuart, a favorite from my own childhood. It's available on DVD, but have resisted buying it.

For OCTOBER I have been concentrating on TCM'S GENRE SALUTE. While OUR BOB has been given great info on other films. But in case he is too busy to mention this one . TCM on WEDNESDAY OCT-16 will show a very rare cable showing of I AM CURIOUS- YELLOW[NOT BLUE]. A 1969 film with blue which was very profitable and controversial back then.

TCM continues it's salute to genre films in October on EARLY MONDAY MORNING THE 14TH with the following vampire pics-NOSFERATU-22-That famous classic silent effort that pretty much started the cinema vampire film. A sub genre of the horror genre which is one of the most constant genre in film history WOW, think about it, 91 years ago.. There has been over a thousand feature length vampire films made along with short films and TV shows. This early one is a silent classic with a vampire who has a face only a mother could love-VAMPYR-32-Stylish early sound effort made right after DRACULA became a smash. Worth checking out, was very obscure years ago. VAMPIRE BAT-33- DWIGHT FRYE steals the show in this slightly dated but still good effort, THE VAMPIRE-57[MARK OF THE VAMPIRE], Top notch tight knit character study which is different and entertaining. ENJOY.

Funny. I spent a month in London in 1969 and decided to see I AM CURIOUS YELLOW, and thought it was a pretty lousy movie. Frankly, I wished I hadn't thrown money away on seeing it.
