How about Estelle Winwood in THE PRODUCERS? I personally thing Estelle Winwood might be the quintessential LOL.

Seeing Edna May Oliver in LITTLE MISS BROADWAY made me think she's a great LOL (if if she was only 49 at the time).

And Estelle Winwood in THE GLASS SLIPPER (1955), a sometimes quirky take on the Cinderella story. Winwood played the Fairy Godmother as a kind of bag lady, but had some pithy lines, such as, when Cinderella, about to leave for the ball, says she loves her, Winwood responds with, "That's very good, if you can love one person, it's that much easier to love someone else." And there's another fine quip about corsets, and how they affect men. This was one of the few films where she actually had lines. As a lady who lived to be 101, she often complained that she was frequently the old lady brought out at events. She also got a chance to be funny in THE MAGIC SWORD, but her appearance in CAMELOT was little more than Guinevere's old lady-in-waiting....
