It would be incredibly easy for Steven Moffat, in the production of the (still amazing, I’m glad to reveal) Sherlock, to slip in some reference to the other big drama in his life, namely Doctor Who, and have us all enjoy a little cross-drama chuckle, a knowing-wink to the audience
I'm still amazed that Arnold did not slip in any reference to his James Bond music in A Scandal In Belgravia when the plot went to "Flight 007".

In May, BBC and 2Entertain Home Entertainment will bring Sherlock: Season Two to Blu-ray shortly after the program's U.S. airing on Masterpiece Theater.
Created by writer Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and actor Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen), this reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic literary sleuth stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Sherlock Holmes, a socially deficient-but-brilliant detective who, along with his best friend and sidekick Watson (Martin Freeman, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), investigates some of the worst crimes in contemporary London.
In Season Two, Holmes and Watson become immersed in the following ninety-minute mysteries:
A Scandal in Belgravia: Holmes squares off against Irene Adler (Lara Pulver, True Blood), an expert hacker and manipulator whose interest in Sherlock might be more than just intellectual.
The Hounds of Baskerville: This adaptation of Doyle's most famous Holmes story finds the detective and Watson combing through the Dartmoor countryside for a threat with seemingly supernatural powers.
The Reichenbach Fall: As Holmes' fame grows around the world, he draws the ire of diabolical criminal mastermind Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott, John Adams), thus igniting a deadly confrontation between the two men.
While the BBC has not yet detailed the technical specifications for this two-disc set, the package does contain a number of bonus supplements, including:
Commentaries on A Scandal in Belgravia and The Hounds of Baskerville
Sherlock Uncovered behind-the-scenes featurette
Sherlock: Season Two is expected to street on May 22nd.

Can't wait for the episodes to air. It's getting closer! 
I assume there will be a DVD as well? I bought Season 1 on DVD because I didn't have a Blu-Ray player at the time, and it would bug me having Season 1 on DVD but Season 2 on Blu-Ray.

Marshall you're a creep! I just watched again Belgravia today and loved the humor and the "new" Irene Adler. I'm as curmudgeonly and reactionary as the next me, but I have enjoyed this new incarnation quite a bit.

Hated What Was Done to Irene Adler, March 28, 2012

"I love these modern interpretations of the classic character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the 1880's. This is the same Sherlock Holmes that stalked those foggy London streets, albeit a bit ruder, but now he has a cell phone!
Where through subsequent viewings of this episode, I managed to untangle my initial horrified reaction from my ability to be impartial, I must say that my first time through the season premiere was a bit... uncomfortable. Not only has series creator and head writer Steven Moffat taken one of the more remarkable women in Doyle's stories and regressed her feminism and intelligence back a couple of centuries, he has also made that first hour and a half a bit rough going if you plan on having your family in the room. Irene is a bisexual dominatrix that spends an entire scene in the buff (the camera is careful, but we still get an eyefull).
My feelings about this season are varied. It has some truly wonderful moments but I'm a bit torn by the Irene Adler fiasco. Moffat, who is usually known for his tight plots, goes out on a limb with a complicated and confusing episode that is not quite up to par with the second episode, in which Mark Gatiss modernizes the most famous of all Holmes mysteries, The Hound of the Baskervilles. Now that is a brilliant hour and a half of television, with enough references to the original to please fans but an independent conclusion all its own, so do not anticipate things turning out the same way after all."

Anyone have any idea when the next series is being filmed/screened?
Last year it was filmed in summer into autumn and aired in January this year.
