Nice to see a shout out to Five Guys, and that more locations are opening all the time. Good food, if a little pricey. But one can't really complain about price if they have the cash for fast food in the first place! Funny coincidence that I sit here and type this while I eat my A&W Bacon 'N' Egger Combo. OMG! There are still A&W's in the world? I still remember the drive up service and the root-beer-centric menu. Nice!

The Egg McMuffin is about the only thing worth eating at McDonalds. I submit it contains the largest ratio of unprocessed food of anything on their menu. I agree it's the most seductive item on the menu, hands down. I think it's also the fattiest. But then, a date with the foxiest babe in town is always the costliest, isn't it?

The reason I like Bacon & Egger more that the Egg McMuffin is because it seems to be more "real" food... the kind of thing you'd make for yourself at home. The least amount of "processing". I can't vouch for how true that actually is, but it sure seems that way to me. (I'm taking you for one if we ever meet, my brother! ) It's a date, Ock-man! When did they start having a breakfast menu? In the 70's it was strictly diner-dinner fare.

We all have individual tastebuds, so most of us won't agree on burgers. Here in Harrisburg, PA, we have a crowd of different burger joints, and this is my personal rating of them: #1: THE JACKSON HOUSE* #2: FIVE GUYS #3: RED ROBIN #4: LIFE CENTER** #5: HARDEE'S (Karl's Jr. in other areas) #6: BURGER KING #7: WENDY'S #8: McDONALD'S * The Jackson House is in midtown Harrisburg, and serves far and away the BEST burger in these parts. They are only open Monday thru Friday 10:30am to 2:30pm. The line bursts out of the front door around 11:30am, and just keeps getting longer. ** Life Center is my church. That's right...my CHURCH! Once a year we have a summer picnic, and that was just last night. Their grilled burgers are GREAT, and are only available ONCE A YEAR.

McDonald's had one great burger - the Angus Deluxe and they just removed it from the menu. For tasty, to die for burgers, absolutely Five Guys have the best burgers and fries. Just about on the same level is Cheeburger Cheeburger. Effing great, but they serve Pepsi products out of "jelly jar" glasses, which sucks. I went to Red Robin once and they burned the shit out of my burger and bun. I'll have to try them again. For total "guilty pleasure" burger experience, I have to shout out to White Castle. Belly Bombers are far from "good" but have a taste and consistency that I really find addictive. When you're dead drunk and you need to drive, have a sack of Sliders. They sop up the alcohol in no time flat.

It's a date, Ock-man! When did they start having a breakfast menu? In the 70's it was strictly diner-dinner fare. Hmm. That's a good question. I'm not exactly sure. It seems so long ago, but I would guess it was around the time that McD's started having a breakfast menu... just to try and compete. Maybe someone else around here knows for sure. Hmmm. Makes sense. I can remember them rolling out breakfast, making pancakes sound like some big, honkin' deal. Oh, excuse me. "Hotcakes." Getting back to the McD's aspect... To my shame, I still like a Mac or a Filet every now and then. I think their fries are still slightly better than the other places. Not that other fries are bad, but to me other fries just seem to be too heavily "coated" (if that's the right word). It's just me, I guess. Yeah, shoestring-wise, Mickey-D's has got it down good. Lately I've liked their McBistro chicken sandwiches with a strawberry/banana smoothy. Or those little Snack Wraps. I don't kid myself that the smoothy doesn't contain a sugar content through the roof. But again, it just seems a little less unhealthy to me! My, oh, my, Ock-man, the way you're talkin' I hope you're keeping this habit down to a minimum. I don't want to see you become a Type II diabetic before you hit 40!

I really used to like Wendy's but in the UK they didn't take off and had all shut down by the late 90s. I think I favored Wendy's back in the day. But maybe that was because I had a BIG fistful of coupons that got me a burger, fries and a drink for 99 cents (or was it $1.99?), on Tuesdays or something. I'd go after my paper route.
