How can you lose with a cast of Maurizio Merli (The Italian Tom Selleck I guess) John Saxon, and you guessed it, Barry Sullivan once again playing an evil old guy in a suit. It's always fun to see the fight scenes in these movies where the punches sound like a small boat hitting a dock.
Here is one of the first italian cop films I ever saw. It was recommended to me by the video shop owner when I was a kid. Strange film to see as a kid, but it served as my introduction. Love the scene in the trailer where Cobra fires his gun and you see the bad guy grabbing his crotch as he falls. LOL.
Quite some years ago I saw Massimo Dallamano's Chiede Aiuto (74) and Luciano Ercoli's Mani Legate but not the Guardare one (73). One of the best scores ever for a police thriller by Cipriani. (much talked about on here and its similarities to tentacles.

I must admit, I hardly ever even glance at the postings on this side of the FSM board - but this did make me laugh so much I nearly spat my corn flakes all over my computer screen.....
I love Italian crime films from the 70's. Maurizio Merli - once dubbed the Italian Dirty Harry (except Merli was much tougher than Eastwood....) - is a hero of the silver screen who deserves to be far wider known.
As for the funky scores - well, they do occasionally sound a bit 'samey', but basically Micalizzi, Cipriani, Ortolani, Bacalov and Trovaioli can do no wrong IMO.
Anyone who is a fan of these should not only check out Romanzo Criminale two series - as recommended higher up, but also the more recent Gomorrah and also Corleone - the series. Obviously not 70s cop thrillers but the gritty modern equivalent.

Well, somebody must be reading this thread because there are a bunch of grainy but complete Polizia Films up on You Tube now that weren't there in 2013 when this thread started.
