This evening I put on the CD of Vladimir Horowitz playing the 3rd piano concerto of Rachmaninoff with Eugene Ormandy and the New York Philharmonic, which was recorded shortly before Horowitz came to the Los Angeles Music Center and performed it with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (with, as I recall, Carlo Maria Giulini, a performance that I recorded from an FM simulcast onto reel-to-reel tape, and then, years later, transferred that to cassette and even to digital (despite the dreadful sonics!) -- wish they had released THAT performance on CD! And to Josh Mitchell, what's that? Non-soundtrack? Reminds me that just 2 nights ago I bought Vangelis' music for "Alexander," which IS soundtrack, so it doesn't belong in this thread. What's "El Greco"?

One of my all time favourite albums. Agreed.
