74) That (apparently thin-skinned) LaLaLand impressario talking about his own personal "Hateful 8" of FSMers.

Please link it if you can.
Brm

Am i on the list?

No names are given. The post is in the hilariously-titled "Did John Williams Ever Top My Friend Mr. Nobody?":

"The Hateful 8 just ain't the name of a crappy Tarantino film, its the new name us here at La La Land have given to those 8 folks on our FSM ignore list that we feel contribute nothing but negativity to this board. Our lives have been happier since not having to read their posts."

LLL is still mad at me for THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE.
"God help the critic of the dawn"

And probably my dissing of the APOCALYPSE NOW art.

I guess buying multiple items from a label and publicizing them is "hateful".

"Apparently thin-skinned" is quite the diplomatic way of putting it.
Jim, you are nothing if not well-mannered.

Why, thank you! I also have excellent posture. wink My wife often tells me that I am "nicer than I want to be." Part of this stems from my teacher's level of patience.

76) Millennial curmudgeon MCurry29 asking Yavar Moradi if his wife knows about his online interactions with WagnerAlmighty in the "Just Scooped the Intrada Alien!":

"Nothing against you WA. You boys are high-larry-us. Are you really that starved for female attention? If some dude posted they just bought Aliens you'd probably condemn him for taking so long to buy one the greatest scores of all-time.
Yavar, does your wife know about WA? Wait, don't answer. She does."

Yavar's passive/aggressive admission that WA is actually one of the few FSMers he's cared to mention to his wife is equally priceless.

77) Mr. Jack and then Tall Guy's amused reply In "Most Annoying Things about the Internet":

Mr. Jack: I also hate the group mentality that blows opinions of certain films WILDLY out of realistic proportions. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 was a flawed film, filled with awkward subplots and too many supporting characters and villains, and yet it's THE WORST SUPERHERO MOVIE OF ALL TIME according to everyone on the internet, which is absurd. It's a flawed film, but far from horrible, and yet try to voice that opinion on any message board, and you'll literally get CRUCIFIED for it.

Tall Guy: One of the worst things about the internet - but also one of the best - is the opportunity for hyperbole. Get somebody worked up about something and all sorts of hilarity can ensue.

78) Bob DiMucci reports that "Record Sales (including Downloads) Dropping."

Who cares! Dan Schulte has 9 kids!!!

Millennials and Gen Z don't care about music in ANY physical form and it's killing it. They want digital music and they want it for free. They don't care about liner notes, artwork, instrumentation and they certainly don't have any patience to put a disc in a tray and wait for it to load. I should know their habits and tastes. I have 9 kids. I also know that with all the ripping programs out there all one needs to do is go to the streaming sites like Bandcamp and download the HQ streams at will (or search...someone else has done it), so even putting your music digitally online is becoming a fruitless effort to make sales (I have a BC page and talk to other EM artists who decry the same thing...people are simply stealing and not buying). Yes, very few will pay...those with morality and integrity but that in 2018, is a dying concept. We can pretend it isn't happening or deny it and live in the echo chamber of "we don't discuss stealing music from artists in this sacred place" but it's there, it's happening and it's why things are ending. For those of us Gen X or older it's a very sad time and we're living in a world we barely recognize anymore. Record/music stores (Best Buy/Target eliminating CDs this year..Walmart soon to follow), video stores, video game arcades, book stores and just this week, with Toys R Us announcing their closing, toy stores....all gone. The classic concept of the musical artist is now dying before our eyes. It was a fun ride while it lasted though. I'm sure the Time Bandits had something to do with it all.

Heh, I'd forgotten that. We collect uses of the word "literally" at home - sports shows are great for that.

"Basically"

(People who use "literally" on social media in the wrong context do my head in. Some sports journalists are the main culprits!)

A post by Watt in the stellar "What's on your sandwich right now" thread:

Two "plain bread" heels (NEVER "pan" bread) from the two extremes of my fresh Mother's Pride loaf, with a slab of lard, a fistful of salt, and lashings of Heinz Tomato Ketchup.

79) Chris Kinsinger's desperate appeal to then-fortysomething FSMers, "If You're 40 or Older...LET'S TALK!":

So ageist, so exclusionist, so...FSM. As far as I can tell, it really has nothing to do with the actual topic title:

Jim, I don't remember that topic, and I posted often on it. "Misty water-colored memories." Yikes.

My fave was when the world's animal cruelty warriors went into meltdown and issued a fatwa when chris kinsinger's house and garden was so infested with squirrels he confessed he was forced to drown them in a barrel. (in fairness, two days before, 20 of them had carried off his grandma!!! wink

80) Former FSMer "Cryogenix" has gone back and deleted nearly every single one of his posts. The Red Army could have learned a lot from this guy's "scorched earth" policy.

Quite a few of my favorites were written by Jim...most especially from a humour standpoint, but Jim has some pretty darn astute observations in general as well.

nah, clearly there are a lot more people that rankle way more than you jimbo.
In fact on a growing list of complete ranklers, you are not even in the top 100! wink
