The funny thing is, I heard the breakout single, Wuthering Heights before most other people. I was a colour grader in film lab & we used to get lots of pop promos in then, so we got one job in to do just called Kate Bush, it's Kate walking around in a forest singing the single, so I graded it, knocked off a mute print, tweaked the grading & by then we had the optical sound in, so the next print was a sound print. I looked at it & thought, wow! I got the department in for a view & everyone loved it, & a couple of us tried to buy the single, but the only name we had was Kate Bush, so it was go to a record shop & ask, can I have a single called Kate Bush please? And of course no one had heard of it, a few weeks later the single came out & everyone knew who she was.

Let’s get this straight: the song included the words “Wuthering, Wuthering, Wuthering Heights” in several places, and was clearly based on the eponymous book, and you thought it was called Kate Bush?! I suppose you were breathing in a lot of processing chemicals at the time.
