Dan, Im not sure but I dont think the Redskins are in the Premier League? Maybe you turned left at the playoff thread? Disaster at the Hammers. Probably the worst Liverpool side I have seen for years, and with no Suarez it was our first proper chance of doing them in ages. Apart from coming back to an undeserved 2-1 lead and holding it for 20 mins, they blew it. 2-3. Liverpool even had a midfielder playing up front and we still couldnt see them off. Poor.

Jon - happy with your Owls? No, not at all. We had a great start to the season, capitalizing on the general feeling of optimism after being promoted out of League 1 last year, and were sitting in the top four for the first couple of weeks... but since then it's all started to fall apart. We haven't won a game of any kind since November 3rd, and we've lost our last seven straight games. It's that classic combination of a dodgy defence and a pair of strikers who are desperately out of form. One of our defensive stalwards from last year, Reda Johnson, has been struggling with ankle issues and has only made 5 appearances, which has left a big leadership hole at the back. We've been rotating strikers, even bringing in Jay Bothroyd in on loan from QPR and Mamady Sidibé from Stoke, but neither have been firing on all cylinders. Last year's top scorer, Gary Madine, has only scored three, and for reasons I have yet to fathom we sold our second top scorer, Ryan Lowe, to the MK Dons. But, more than that, we need a coaching change. Dave Jones has had his day. He was great last year to bring us up from League 1, but he seems totally out of ideas this year. If we continue to lose we'll be firmly stuck in a relegation fight, and if that happens I think he'll be gone by Christmas - and I want Owen Coyle in.

If my young friend Odlicno/Xebec still graced these pages, he might say: be careful what you wish for... Well, to be precise, I want the lively, articulate, creative Owen Coyle who managed Burnley, not the sad figure who was finally drummed out of Bolton. I was just reading back through this thread, and I was reminded just how much Wednesday has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Hillsborough is of course now synonymous with the disaster rather than being the great stadium that it is - my home from home - and that's been all over the news with the new findings and the quoshed verdict and everything. Then, with the disastrous form we've been in, I totally forgot that our goalkeeper got smashed in the face by a drunken fan during the Leeds game. Weird year.

To BILL- Just some lite humor, the Redskins are a NFL football team over here in America. They were my favorite team in America's football for years, they are just so-so this year, so that is the joke. The Tigers here in America are a major league baseball team, i predicted way back in April they would win the world series, i was very close, they got into the series but lost. But i just had a thought in my head wouldn't it be a comic classic comedy scene if the American football players were playing on the same field with the British football players, something maybe Jerry lewis would have dreamed up. Jerry Lewis. that comedian your neighbors in France think is a God. Thats okay Dan. Eric Morecambe never had to explain his humour like this!!! However, we could be seeing something along similar lines if the Hammers are made to play in the new Olympic stadium. Football and other sports. Some might argue throwing javelins and discuss at Carlton Cole to make him move may improve his workrate!

Unfortunately for you Bill, the Hammers hoofing the ball up front to the big fella didn't work yesterday I actually think Liverpool are showing gradual signs of improvement. They are maybe a creative midfielder and a striker short of being a good team. Remember, Liverpool are only 4 points off 4th place now, even with a fairly insipid start to the season! Think it's fair to say, apart from the 2 Manchester teams, the rest of the league is somewhat lacking in quality. Any hoofing we did came more when Diame got injured and went off, who was having a great game, and then no one wanted the ball in midfield. Equally, the difference in knock-downs from Andy Carroll and knock-downs from Carlton Cole are quite considerable!! Also we handed you the first goal when they backed off Glen Johnson like no one else in the league would - worse, they even let him come back on his good right foot, just make sure!! No one else would give him so much room and let him cut in like that except maybe QPR or Reading. The last goal was a fluke deflection over the goalkeeper from James Collins which could have gone anywhere. So I would not base any improvement of your team on the performance against West Ham, because few teams would do such stupid things like we can still do to make you look good. With Suarez, of course, you wouldve murdered us. No doubt about that, we dont have the defensive players to cope with him. Personally I think our full-backs are weak, and this showed up against Liverpool again. Lets see how the reds get on in the next few games, Thomas. If they could play West Ham every week in this league they would be top of it!! TG - I heard yesterday that in Northampton it was minus 5, and in North London... it was minus another cup.

Chelsea on the march again! 8 nil against Aston Villa! Purple nose making ridiculous comments again to deflect criticism away from his team. Controversy everywhere! Standards and consistency of refereeing at an all-time low. The Beautiful Game!!
