Thanks TG. Tell him 'right back at him'. Hope he's up n aboot again, after his injury! Shame he ended his run around here completely. I always enjoyed his posts and banter. We need MORE of the likes of him around here, not less frown (especially of late).

Hope everyone here had a good chrimbo too! (this is getting to be the only thread I bother with around here now, most of the others descend into chaos. who knew a footie thread full of hooligans would be one of the most civilised!! smile

I'm not talkin about the footie yesterday and I'm guessin you're not either Chris frown

Lets see how Liverpool get on in the next few games, Thomas. If they could play West Ham every week in this league they would be top of it!!

so Kev and thomas, was I right, did West Ham make Liverpool look good???

Bill

I think my previous comment about Liverpool showing gradual signs of improvement was somewhat optimistic. It seems to be one step forward and two steps backward for us at the moment. Think our victory over the Hammers that day was more of an anomaly than the norm. Desperately lacking some consistency.

35 bloody goals and we cant even get one of them!!!

2013 looms large and its going to be shit winter and spring, I can see it.

Generous fixture list early season flattered us, and now we cant even beat Reading.
Carlton Blancmange was last to every ball in the box, and we missed 3 sitters. hopeless.

Bad run at the moment for The Hammers Bill. Could be worse though, just look at Villa!!

Good win for the Reds yesterday, 3-0 away at QPR. Thought we looked pretty comfortable, Suarez tortured their defence. QPR look doomed to me, which makes me laugh seeing as the Cockney wide boy 'Arry might bring them down.

Suarez was playing very well, but be careful - QPR were, even by their poor standards, bad yesterday! Dont use them as a yardstick for sussing out where Liverpool are in their progress road, similar to the cries of top four when West Ham handed them 2 goals!!

Liverpool may finish the season stronger than they started it, thats for sure, if they can keep Suarez fit. Ince and Sturridge in January may make you a little stronger too. But all while they are still capable of stumbling against villa and stoke then even a Europa league place will be a tough ask.

As for my lot, well, injuries have played a big part in them falling apart but the biggest mess is upfront. Without Carroll and Vaz Te, we have nothing - nothing - upfront. Cole scored a good goal against Everton, but that will be it now for another 17 games. Any team with him upfront as main striker is going down! 9 goals all season from a lumbering tree gets you relegated.
He really must be offloaded to the championship. Or be fourth choice of four strikers.

Aye Bill, we play Sunderland at Anfield on Wednesday.
I share your caution re LFC during these times. Too many previous false dawns to get carried away with anything. Until we gain some consistency and learn to 'win ugly' (I'd like a plan B during games too, but the new manager is against such methods), we will continue to rotate around the middle of the table. Of course, I'd love to be proved wrong smile

Good win for your 'ammers today. Much needed after that last defeat too. Congrats!

Buys us time Kev.
Sounds like Anelka might be a strong possibility.
We also need a full-back. or 2.

Kev and Thomas, how could you do it to us?!!!

When we played you Joe Cole was the worst player in your team, possibly one of the worst on the pitch apart from flukey shot on target when we gave him too much space - then you go and sell him to us????? That's evil.

When they said Joe Cole was having a medical at west ham I thought "thats good, maybe they will find out what's wrong with him!!"

He certainly has that virus "I-cant-track-runners"; and also suffers frequent bouts of "Hands-on-hips-itis," and regularly comes down with Wayward Shooting and Pointless Flicks, which can last from August right through winter to May.

We need strikers. Another midfield ball-juggling lump of fluff who never reached his potential and is now well past his best we can do without.

Haha! Sorry Bill smile
We didn't get away cheaply though! Apparently we had to pay him 3 MILLION QUID to leave!
Some Free Transfer he turned out to be! 100 GRAND A WEEK for the first season, a gap year in France still on our books and then a bumper pay day to get shut of him! And they say footballers are stupid! wink

And he's only managed the full 90 minutes thirteen times in five seasons!

Surely only an attempt to mollify unhappy Hammers fans (except Bill, of course).

after all the hype dies down, and he cant shoot, cant score, cant track runners, cant mark, doesnt have any pace, always gets caught once he's beat someone - then we will start to see people make noises that he isnt the messiah.

(yeah yeah naughty boy gags not allowed)

and we have bought Chamahk, who most arsenal fans say isnt as bad as his rep. so we will see.

J Cole actually played quite well today - went missing a few times during United attacks but he even contributed two whipped crosses which lead to goals.

At 2-1, with seconds to go, even I thought for once the usual United comeback wouldnt happen - but, irritatingly - they nicked an undeserved draw with almost the last kick of the day.

*Thats another annoying thing - with two Coles at the club we now have to differentiate between them all the bloody time!! I have to specify which one Im slagging off now. Gits.

I've been enjoying the Lake District this weekend with the missus, as it's her birthday.
I caught the end of the 'ammers/ManU game yesterday and was gutted when they slammed in their equaliser in Fergie Time!! I really thought you'd done enough Bill to dump them out frown

I listened to the Lpool game in the car driving home earlier and it sounded like we were mighty lucky against those Big Guns from the Conference!!
I've just seen the winning goal by Suarez on the news and that was dodgy! Looks like loads more bad press for our little saviour smile

Suarez will be getting a call from Thierry Henry to join his volleyball team...

Apparently the ref saw it but judged it accidental. Less embarrassing, I suppose, than admitting that none of the three officials saw it when everyone else in the ground did.

Even if it were truly accidental, he should have refrained from kissing his hand in the celebration, That was just crass.

And still not as bad as that cheating toe rag Henry.
