Louise Fletcher's Nurse Ratched made me think of "A Beautiful Mind". Not too farfetched, non? Having not seen either film - NO I don't get it. Which is why the thread is called PICTURE association and not "esoterical, fluffy puffy, mamby pamby, clutching at straws, let's be clever and confuse everyone else picture association"!

I sincerely apologize and vow never to soil this here thread again with any image that you or others may feel is not sufficiently obvious as a PICTURE association. I will try hard to suppress any thought processes that may lead me from one image to another and from now on will only post pictures that in style, color or composition tie in exactly with the previous post. Pfffft. Now you're getting it! Tangential associations only confuse and annoy. What's obvious to you isn't necessarily obvious to everyone else, especially literally minded people like me. Terribly sorry if my being somewhat simple in outlook stymies your creativity.

Souchak: As politely as I know how, I will make the case for Greg's point of view. When I look at this thread, I look at one picture to the next and enjoy seeing if I can spot the association. If it's not visible, I look at the filename of the 2nd picture, and by then I can usually figure out the association. For those where it is even less obvious, the nicest people here post "spoiler" text explaining the association. Figuring these things out, or learning them, for myself is probably the biggest part of my enjoyment of this thread. When someone does otherwise, it not only appears to negate any respect for the previous person's post, it also takes away those elements I enjoy, entirely. It's like playing a game of soccer and someone has brought a water pistol onto the field. Sure, it's fun for her to introduce her random element and get people wet when she cares to, but it is no fun for the other people who are trying to get on with a game that includes no such element and only serves to annoy them. If there is an association you can make between Nurse Ratched and A Beautiful Mind (was Fletcher in the film? Was there an "evil nurse" in the film?), please tell us so I can understand and enjoy your contributions. Thanks.

The missing "G" at the beginning of the sign makes this "Greengrass"

Okay, David, I guess this is my second strike then, right? You won't hear me arguing, I obviuously misunderstood this particular thread, seeing how a lot of posts jump from one idea to the next. Sans spoiler/info, mind you. It would have been nice, though, if Greg and you wouldn't have singled me out here, a more general reminder would have been better, imho.

It would have been nice, though, if Greg and you wouldn't have singled me out here, a more general reminder would have been better, imho. I'm sorry if you feel singled out - that wasn't my intention. A general reminder has been given recently by David ( the thread's originator) which has had limited success in steering the thread back to less choppy waters. I wasn't making a personal attack at you, you just happened to be in the firing line and I apologise if this has diminished your enjoyment of being here on the message board. Very sorry.
