So the club lawyer sacks him and the owner reinstates him?? you couldnt make it up tg.

Very strange goings on at Elland Road. Seems that McDermott has turned up to take training this morning. And this prospective new owner seems a 'character'. Only at Leeds, eh?

Oh, and thanks a lot Kolo Toure for your assist for WBA's goal yesterday. Wonder if he is still in the car sales business?

Not only did our Bri take training this morning, but there was a new Italian player that he wasn't expecting. Sadly, it probably won't be a reincarnated Luigi Riva.

If anyone reads this thread who is looking for an English football team to follow, I'd urge them to consider Leeds United, the Mighty Whites. There's never a dull moment.

Yeah, Bill, I saw it live, and I shouted "red card" at the telly in real time. Nothing I've seen since, in slow motion or from any angle, persuades me otherwise. I was sorry to see it, mate, as his presence has been sorely missed by the Irons, but appealing it was a waste of energy.

Good job that Fulham are so poor. You just need two others to be equally rubbish and you'll be safe.

Yeah, the current form of Palace and Sunderland has me worried for the Hammers.
Fulham do look doomed, but Cardiff and Swansea could be the next fall guys.
Ole Gunnar hasn't made the best of starts and now the Swans have sacked Laudrup.
What fun at the bottom!

seriously tg?? he waz silly to brush the bloke off wiv a flappy hand but at same time flores has deliberately climbed on him wiv his arm across Carolls throat and kept it there even aftr they have landed.
Carrol has tried to fling him off. its wot id do in a match if someone hung onto my throat!
oh wel, 3 game ban. depends how wel the replacements do.

I agree with your interpretation of the climbing frame part of it - and I'd do the same as you. But what got him sent off was the flailing arm at the end of the incident, and because it looks deliberate it doesn't matter if it hit Flores (who's a diver, no doubt about it!) or where - it's off. Don't hate me!

Chairman Gold described him on Sky tonight as "our star player" - way to build up the others!

he was silly to shrug the guy off but how does grabbing a bloke around the throat go unpunished when a fairly feeble flailing hand gets a 3 match ban??

Hey - don't talk to a Leeds fan about unfairness...

Cheated out of two European finals by officially bent refs and no support from the UK footie authorities, an own goal against Man U that would have given us the points to get to the champs league disallowed for offside - OFFSIDE!, the ref in one game actually celebrating a Liverpool goal against us with no kind of subsequent enquiry... I could go on and on!

And have, on many an alcohol-encouraged occasion.

We should try to arrange one sometime and compare notes!

" the ref in one game actually celebrating a Liverpool goal against us "
------------------------
No No No!
He was merely pleased with himself for playing a fair advantage!
Dirty Leeds had fouled our man but the (Aston Villa supporting) ref allowed the advantage which enabled Lovely Liverpool to score from his correct ruling. Don't turn something beautiful into a mean spirited thing smile
If you want unfair, Liverpool were diddled out of their first European trophy by (since proven) cheating Italians in the 60's. Now THAT stinks!!

Hey Jim, have you fallen out of love with SOCCER!!!???

If I'm remembering correctly, it was Patrik Berger who scored that goal against the Dirty Leeds.

Big match tomorrow lunchtime against the Gooners. I'm a bit worried about our absurd defending at the minute, can't see a goalless draw!!

so 3-2 or 2-3 then??
3 game ban upheld. thats ludicrous for a flailing hand that was barely a yellow and at most a 1 match ban.
thats the one thing i detest about fa bodies - when they fuck up they dont put it right, they close ranks and make it worse.

Oh Bill, I agree about the inept UK football authorities, but there was never any chance that this was going to be overturned. If it had been, every red card would end up in legal arbitration. Hell, Man U would take disputed throw ins to the Supreme Court.

generally decisions have a way of evening out, but when youre shit and youre backs are against the wall and we are about to play three games we have a chance of winning and they conspire to rob us of our best player, such a decision could easily send us down. in the long run, we aint been good enough but it dont help when ruling body shafts you. and dont put it right.
all boils down to how good are these replacements hes got in. we play like we did against chelsea we have chance of staying up- we play like we have in the other games, goodnight vienna. and prague. and even sunderland.

Oh Bill, you’re like a terrier with a bonewink

I think The Hammers will stay up. My predictions to drop are Fulham (can’t defend and that Mullysteen chap is worse than Jol), Cardiff (don’t have anyone to score them goals) and Norwich (too inconsistent and their last 4 games are Mancs, Liverpool, Arse and Chelski).

I could be wrong of course Billwink

Bill, just like gaining Juan Mata may not on its own turn the tide for the Mancs, losing Carroll may not be the death (well, relegation) knell for the Irons. Depends if the rest of them find a bit of pride, like Leeds did last weekend. I've got no dog in the relegation fight now that Sunderland appear to be clear of it (wanted them to go down) but I tend to agree with Thomas.
