It is probably best to not embed the videos on here, just because the thread will eventually get insanely slow. I had a similar problem with a music thread and eventually removed the embeds.

Thanks. Maybe I'll remove old embeds when I add new ones, leave up maybe the latest five for perusal, see how that works.

Before I start that process, here's the trailer for R.I.P.D., the latest from middling director Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler's Wife, RED). He doesn't seem to have a regular composer -- his last three films have been with Horner, Danna and Beck respectively, so I'm curious to see who gets this assignment. (EDIT: Just kidding: I read it's Beck. Curious to see what he comes up with.) Movie itself looks awful, Men in Black mashed up with Reaper and Dead Like Me.

I haven't read the book since I was in high school, so I don't remember much, but I like what I see in this first trailer. I'll definitely check it out. I should re-read the book sometime over the summer in anticipation.

Both look pretty solid. Not going to see either of them in 3D though. Also my friend linked me to this one today.

Captain Phillips looks good. Definitely going to see that.

I haven't liked a George Clooney movie in a very long time, but Gravity looks like it's something I could be interested in. Having Sandra Bullock in it would be a major plus for me, too. This was basically just a teaser, so I'm looking forward to a full trailer to see more of what it's about.

Watched the S.H.I.E.L.D. a few times now, hard to judge much about it but looking forward to it (I know some don't like Whedon shows, but I do) and yes I'm pleased that #CoulsonLives smile

More TV trailers. Since I know how much everyone here loves Abrams, Orci and Kurtzman, may I present Sleepy Hollow and Almost Human:

That Gravity trailer is the way to do trailers - short and engaging, without featuring the entirety of the story out of chronological order (!!!). From that little blurb, I definitely want to see it.

"I don't think that's electrostatic anything. I think something wants us to stay away from Europa!" - Heywood 'Woody' Floyd, 2010.

Apologies for littering this thread with admiration posts...

... BUT...

... Europa Report looks good too. It and Gravity. Riddick is ditto, but the trailer is too damn long - could have stopped 1 minute into it. INTEREST me, simply make me want to see what happens next, don`t show me the whole damn movie!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug:

Regarding "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug". I now know a lot of the CGI in these previews are not fully rendered so I hope Smaug looks massively more realistic when the film opens. This second glimpse of him looks like stiff 90's CGI.

The ridiculous acrobatics of the "hero's" is extremely disappointing to see as well. Jackson did a fantastic job realistically merging CGI, model work and film in TLOTR's trilogy. Looks like he's taking a cartoony Star Wars approach with The Hobbit.
