"I suspect Octoberman would have preferred a hands-on picture of Caroline Monro." Timmer, me man...WHO WOULD BLAME HIM?

Hey Timmer, I posted the picture on my Facebook page. Why is that so simple, and I can't figure out how to post it here?

Timmer, I was on the phone with Lois Carruth last night, and I told her about you wanting me to post that picture (I sent it to her in an email). She said, "Is Timmer still at the board? I love him!" I thought you'd get a charge out of that.

I was checking out Harryhausen memorials at YouTube, and it lead me to the official Ray And Diana Harryhausen Foundation Facebook page. There's a ton of stuff there I'd never before seen, and there are photos of Caroline Munro that were taken quite recently. Older...but still quite choice. (Of course, I'm also older than when I saw her in Sinbad back in 1973, and I like to think of myself as "still quite choice". For the answer to that mystery, you'll have to ask my dearest lady friend.)

But in this case, I just couldn't help myself. Anyway, until Timmer & Chris can get their pic up, this will have to do, sort of...

I don't think it has been mentioned that Ray's wife Diana is the great-granddaughter of David Livingstone. I certainly didn't know that until, on a visit to my mammy's hoose back hame near Glasgow last year, I went into the David Livingstone Centre in Blantyre (a place which had fascinated me ever since I was taken to see it at the age of 5), and there was a huge sculpture in the grounds which had been designed and overseen by the Harryhausens. It depicts Livingstone being attacked by a lion, and in the bodily contortions it's clearly reminiscent of Ray's detailed drawings of scenes of mass panic published in his Film Fantasy Scrapbook. That really made my day.
