I find Paris Hilton attractive in that annoying rich girl you'd like to foul way.

That last entry was more worthy of the "Unusual Yum" thread, by far! smile

I know it's not trendy to say so in these parts, but since when has that ever stopped me?

I find Paris Hilton attractive in that annoying rich girl you'd like to foul way.

JS, I literally laughed out loud at this comment.

And, you just reminded me: I know you're a Harlan Ellison fan; did you ever read his essay "The Three Most Important Things in Life?" Your comment above reminded me of the anecdote in that essay about him having, um, an "unusual" encounter with a girl at her insanely rich parents' house... and it's stinking hilarious.

That's a terrific piece. I can see him shuffling along on the carpet writing that word.

I often think of the other part of that essay, "Violence", and the movie theater. Yikes!

It occurs to me that we've gone through this entire thread without once mentioning Madlyn Rhue ("Space Seed") I guess because her role was rather thankless. But she did have an attractive screen presence that graced many TV shows in the 60s and 70s (especially as a frequent Tonight Show guest in that period too) before she was sadly stricken with MS and spent the rest of her life confined in a wheelchair.

I always thought she and ESPN/NBC sports anchor of the 80s-90s Gayle Gardner looked alike.

Was watching a Kolchak: The Night Stalker episode ("Firefall") and Miss Rhue looked much yummier in her appearance there. I barely recognized her. And in looking at her screen credits, I'm surprised at how much she worked. Need to find more of her on DVD.

She has a nice guest villainess turn in the first season three episode of "Wild, Wild West." Even better is her haughty "Indian goddess" in a S1 "Daniel Boone" also available on DVD.

And further addendum to Madlyn Rhue on DVD is a Season 1 "Man From UNCLE" in the recently released complete set. Will be giving that a look soon (if we could upload our own pix it'd be possible to start an UNCLE Yum thread!)

Lots of Yum!-type activity on the board lately, I see, from admirers of both sexes. Never let it be said I shun a bandwagon...

I haven't posted much in this thread yet, but as it happens I recently came across a topic-relevant photo set on flickr.com, and felt I'd be remiss in my duties as a board member and Trek lover if I didn't mention it, so... you're welcome!

I'm flattered that the term "Yum" has found widespread use on the olde boarde!

Thanks for the useful link, Joe!

OK, to you fans--which of the ST shows other than the original series had the best Yum?

Fairly comprehensive grouping in that link, with the only name I noticed neglected being Diana Ewing (Droxine-"The Cloud Minders").

It's really hard to say - each of the three shows set in the 24th century ran for seven seasons, more than twice as long as the original, so it's hard to crunch it all down because of the sheer volume of shows and characters. It will require further study.

Amidst all the names from Trek who have been spotlighted in this thread, I find it very funny that one name that was forgotten was the one Kirk was made to "forget." smile

Apologies to Louise Sorel ("Requiem For Methuselah")

As of this writing, there are at least 19 other "Yum" threads, but this is the original!

Yes, this thread did provide the inspiration for all other Yum ones that have emerged since! smile

The only reason why I've not used the cap function on my own DVDs for here is because there are other sites out there that have done a better job of that and it'd be easier to just download their images and reupload them for use here.

Lots and lots of Star Trek yum -- and some other fanboyish yum mixed in:

There is an oft-repeated rumor (which could be total BS, but that's not gonna prevent me from repeating it) that, during the filming of Kirk's love scene with Sorel, Shatner became, um, "visibly aroused," and filming had to wait for a few minutes while the problem, er, uh, "dissipated."

"Captain, did your communicator just flip open, or are you happy to see me?"
