After what I've seen unfold tonight in just two innings, I am no longer convinced the Yankees are a lock to make the playoffs. This team has played horrible baseball the last week with garbage performances at the plate costing them every close game they have played. Tonight, they scored five runs in the bottom of the 1st and I figure, finally, they've broken through and can turn a corner with a laugher. And then Ivan Nova goes out and proceeds to give up seven runs to the Orioles, all of them scoring after two men were out thanks to one garbage hanging breaking ball after another. This team is practically begging to be overtaken now in the standings. They haven't hit when they've needed it, and on a night when all they needed was just a halfway decent performance from a pitcher, we instead get the second coming of Steve Trout, 1987. Just disgraceful. This is not a championship team and at this point, I wouldn't even call them a legitimate playoff team.
