This might be some sort of guilty pleasure, but I've just rediscovered this song from the 1980s. Both the lyrics and the instrumentation are exquisite. The poster here has included the lyrics in a 'more info' dropdown. It's the perfect synthesis of the mediaeval troubadour and modern Americana:

The title track is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, period:

Great album, great choice! I was actually thinking a few days ago that I hadn't heard this in a long time.

Great choice, Thor, and just for you: The actual original LP artwork (below) before Polygram decided to standardize all their ABBA releases and at the same time make the colours all garish. My favourite ABBA album, vastly under-, or not at all, rated. Enjoy!:

Yes, it's really the only ABBA album that I enjoy from start to finish, without any saccharine Eurovision Song Contest-like songs. It certainly points forwards, to the CHESS musical that Benny and Björn were going to write a couple of years later (which is my fav musical of all time). It would have been interesting to hear what ABBA would have sounded like if they had done more albums after THE VISITORS.

I agree, although it's nice they ended on a high note, artistically if not commercially. Great album!

Great album! Sadly RCA has botched the CD cover art for years now. This is the mono cover art in all its original glory (with a ton of surface damage cleaned up, of course).

Thor, what is Spotify? I'm sorry, I don't know it. Is it online streaming? What were your top 10 fave tracks you played on there?

[EDIT] Accidental Genius, here's a bigger photo of the cover. You can more clearly see they are puppets here!
