It was a tradition for many years with WPAT IN NEW YORK[easy listening station] to present around the time of the Academy awards on a Sunday night to play and count down the film music that won the awards each year. I remember in the 80's taping the whole show on cassette tape.Things were different years ago for film music lovers. I thought that was special and cool.
Choices of selections from film music were often interesting on these stations, it would go from KOTCH-70-MARVIN HAMLISCH[LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT] to EMMANUELLE-75-PIERRE BACHELET.
WPAT on Sunday nights would devote a few hours, playing original Broadway show soundtracks, which again years ago was something different in a time when music was not everywhere.
