Yeah I saw that goal on sky sports news. Looks like Germany D team's U-13s keeper!! ha ha. England were very ordinary. Gave the ball away a lot. Against probably about the second worst Brazil teams in history. Nice goal from Rooney but I got a bit bored watching Walcott give the ball away or run down dead end alleyways. World class pace, sunday morning finishing... Yet the hype has started in the papers today...

I think thats rule 7, sub section 5, if you find your England tactics get you two goals, change tactics and start playing scared until you hand edge back to opponents.

So, Bale to Real Madrid for £900m, Villas Boas to leave Tott and manage Paris Saint Germain, Wayne Rooney to leave United, Wayne Rooney to stay at United, (depending on which paper you read on which day) and with 2 whole goals to his name for the season, Carlton Tree Cole to go to West Brom (= thats them relegated next year then). Meanwhile, the worst striker in the world, Niclas Bendtner, goes the shameless road all players on the way down travel along when they cant get even the worst Premier League side to sign them - Turkey!!! (isnt anton ferdinand out there? I rest my case!!)

Anyone following the Under 21 European Championship in Israel? My country Norway actually beat England 3-1 and plays the semi-final against Spain today. Holland meets Italy in the other semi.

Hey Hey, Manuel Pellegrini has been named Manchester City's new manager. He's seems to have been coming about 8 months but its probably only 3 weeks since we first heard they had got him. I wonder how many people will refer to him as Pellegrino?? Be fun having a media watch to count how many times people say it wrong.

To be honest, Mr Pellegrino has got to be an improvement on Mancini. There was a wonderful aside from English sports writer Brian Glanville at the time of the Tevez and Ballotelli troubles, which rather summed Mancini up as a coach.... "...There's this thing that everyone goes on about called man-management.... and I dont think Mancini is very good at it..."

I didnt see it, jim, although I saw Brazil were 1-0 up and watched for about 2 mins. Brazilian fans on here may know better, but in truth, after seeing them against England, I thought their current team was one of the more ordinary Brazilian sides I have ever seen in 45 years. For the most part they have phenomenal teams but every now again they have a crop which struggles against even the dullest European sides. They usually still have a flair individual or two but not enough to make them serious big tournament contenders. I am yet to be convinced by this current crop. Far cry from Pele and jairzinho 70 and Falcao/Socrates 82.

I haven't seen anything from them against a worthy opponent (sorry, Three Lions) just yet. No argument from me on that, Jim. England have been shit for a lot of years. saw a few mins of Italy v Mex - italy stringing some nice stuff together, Pirlo is just class and the new guy upfront looks a handful.
