Bought these quite cheap in a second-hand store.
The Rick Wright disc is fabulous!
Maybe not fabulous, but quite interesting after the first listen. I really like some of the instrumentals, like Sweet July, Satellite and Runaway. I also like the Sinead O'Connor contributions, and some of Wright's own vocal parts. He sings just like Warren Zevon, by the way. Parts of the album are a bit too dark and depressing for me, though.
Bought 10 used CDs for about 30 dollars. The 4 first I already owned on vinyl. Most of these buys are some killer albums:
Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair Talk Talk - The Colour Of Spring Bruce Hornsby & The Range - Scenes From The Southside Cock Robin - After Here Through Midland Bel Canto - Birds Of Passage Jon & Vangelis - Private Collection Whitesnake - 1987 Mike Oldfield - Discovery Clannad - Sirius Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder
BRIAN ENO WITH JON HOPKINS & LEO ABRAHAMS - SMALL CRAFT ON A MILK SEA (CD)
Late christmas gift.
Actually my first Eno album.
Cool! How do you like it so far?
Have played it once. What can I say? Interesting album, but not totally my kind of thing. Beginning and end of album is best, with some Vangelis-moods and ambient sections, the mid-part is more experimental/noise/rock-based. But I'm sure it's a CD that can be played several times with new things in the soundscape being heard each time.
AVENTURA - THE LAST DEFTONES - WHITE PONY DYLAND Y LENNY - MY WORLD NINE INCH NAILS - PRETTY HATE MACHINE [DELUXE EDITION] WEEZER - PINKERTON [DELUXE EDITION]
I do love the Swingle Singers! We went to their concert here in Turin some time ago. Absolutely amazing and moving the finale in which they sang BELLA CIAO, an Italian resistance song during WWII.
Apart from that, I've recently bought this:
Morton Feldman piano work is awesome (and a lot better than Takemitsu, my friends). Together with Varese they form an explosive CD.
