As usual this seems more like a list of "Who's popular now" kinda thing. Though I do think Mila Kunis is gorgeous.

I am fine with four of these women. The one who was in Ted is the odd one out.

HEAT---remake of the 1986 Burt Reynolds/Michael Mann movie about a Las Vegas bodyguard stars Jason Statham, Sophia Vergara, Stanley Tucci, Anne Heche, Milo Ventimiglia and Cedric the Entertainer.

Statham and Ventimiglia? Oh dear.

"DC COMICS---Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov commented ..." that they are really late to the party and really have no idea how they are going to compete with Marvel. Indeed they are so unsure that they made an announcement, about a future announcement about how they are going to shape the DC film universe.

LEN DEIGHTON---18-part tv series underway based on Deighton's Bernard Samson spy novels. Oscar-winner Simon Beaufoy (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) is the writer.

The best news in this thread so far! I'd also like to see the Holm version released at some stage.

Jeff Robinov is still at Warner Bros? I figured that him coming out in public about his misogyny would have destroyed him.

But then again, this is the same studio that put Jon "I Know Nothing About Comic Books" Peters in charge of Batman and Superman in the 1990's.

MONDAY, APRIL 15

THE SHINING---Stephen King commented on the remake movie underway, "I’m not saying I would put a stop to the project, because I’m sort of a nice guy. When I was a kid, my mother said, ‘Stephen if you were a girl, you’d always be pregnant.’ I have a tendency to let people develop things. I’m always curious to see what will happen. But you know what? I would be just as happy if it didn’t happen."

CUJO---Sunn Classic Pictures announced it is developing a remake of its 1983 movie based on the Stephen King novel for 2013 which is the 30th anniversary of the movie.

HELL ON WHEELS---the Western returns to AMC on August 3. Showrunner John Wirth said, "[Season 3] will be a western about work — the building of the railroad, the binding of the nation after the Civil War, and the rehabilitation of the men who lived and fought their way through those exploits. This season we’re placing Cullen Bohannon at the center of the show, and taking him away from the revenge motive which propelled him into the series."

SYFY---three pilots are underway. HIGH MOON is from Bryan Fuller (PUSHING DAISIES, HANNIBAL) and is based on the novel THE LOTUS CAVES in which men colonizing the Moon discover a new life form. CLANDESTINE is from Gale Anne Hurd (THE WALKING DEAD, THE TERMINATOR) in which space bandits are left for dead by Coalition forces. They take over a derelict Coalition spaceship and pose as Coalition members. SOJOURN involves a murder on a spaceship which is part of a conspiracy connected to its launch 50 years before.

28 DAYS LATER---Danny Boyle commented on if he's planning a sequel, "I don’t like zombie movies. I never did. We took a genre and f****d with it. Zombie aficionados, they’re quite precious with all their rules. Like with running: 'They don’t do that!'
Of course there are so many manifestations of zombies now, the rule book has gone out the window. I saw one episode of THE WALKING DEAD and it was very gripping. But the zombies were stumbling around again, which I hate.
Given what we’ve just been talking about, it’s very difficult to know whether zombies are overexposed now as a concept. So it’s 40/60 whether it happens or not. But we did have an idea of where to set it and what it might be about. Asked if he would reveal the idea, he laughingly replied "No, because they’ll end up in THE WALKING DEAD."

CRASH BANDITS---Rob Cohen (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) replaces director John McTiernan (DIE HARD, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, PREDATOR) on this movie about two rival treasure seekers who salvage wrecked airplanes and are racing each other to find the ultimate treasure in the Amazon jungle.

VERONICA MARS---the Kickstarter fund-raising movie campaign officially ended with $5.7 million raised from 91,585 backers. The original goal was $2 million. The amount raised broke several Kickstarter records.

THE INSIDE OUTSIDE MAN---World War II movie underway based on the true story of Frank Foley who worked in England's Berlin embassy and violated orders by helping anti-Nazi groups.

CHILDREN OF THE LAMP---Paramount Pictures movie underway based on the children's book.

I haven't seen Cujo, but I don't get it. How scary is a dog? Even a rabid dog? If it's trying to kill you, get in the house. Get in your car and run it over or run away. Heck, climb onto the top bunk of a bunk bed. And in these days of cellphones it can't even starve you to death since you can just call for help.

Imagine being stuck inside a stalled-out car (in the pre-cell phone era), during a sweltering summer, for several days, with your six-year-old child while a rabid, 200-pound St. Bernard is stalking around you. Cujo is one of the better films adapted from a Stephen King novel, tightly-directed and supenseful, but isolating the characters from any possibility of rescue in this day and age would be hard to swallow. This is a story that was done perfectly well 30 years ago and does not need to be remade.

Apparently if KEU* signs on she'll play the woman who the husband is cheating on his wife and mistress (played by Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, respectively). It certainly makes more sense to cheat on Cammie with Kate than vice versa. By the way, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is the director.

TRANSFORMERS 4---Stanley Tucci has joined the cast of the Michael Bay reboot movie in an undisclosed movie.

He's playing an entire movie? Wow, that's range.

*Her middle name's Elizabeth.

I like dogs in general, but there are fewer experiences more frightening than being confronted by a large, growling/barking dog that weighs about as much as you do, when you don't have someone around to collar the thing.
