Jim Phelp's dad was Humphrey Bogart. Somewhere in the filming of Key Largo, Humph got very interested in the hotel receptionist.

He grew up thinking his father was an ex-marine called Mike Campbell. When Lauren found out there was hell to pay, and he got not a dime.
