Oops, my post went to the wrong side: Who is Pedro Bronfman, composer of the new, unnecessary redo, and how did he, apparently with no prior credits, land a big budget A list film??? I'm not bashing without hearing or seeing the film first, since this could be the freshest score done this millennium, but its still a little weird. Discussion anyone?

http://www.pedrobromfman.com/home.php Yeah, big gig for a relative unknown. Robocop was done in London with orchestra. Latin/Jazz schooling. Could be interesting. Let's hope he smashes it.

Like DREDD would be more than we could wish for !!! I hope the suits don't pressure the composer to drone in the same old sounds of 'these days'. Something JazzSchifrin could give people palpatations!!

Schifrin style would be a shock to contemporary audiences, but it's nice to dream. I'm waiting for others to watch first and see how the reviews come in. Rivaling or topping Basil is going to be REAL difficult, but hope springs eternal.... I was surprised there was no talk, speculation, griping that I could find on this board about the project. DREDD has to be a real trip in 3D, I really want to see it that way someday.....

As of four weeks ago - they were still shooting ! I kid you not. They shot some new scenes just down the street from me. Holy cow THAT is cutting it somewhat close!?!? Maybe the post window will be so short they'll just have to accept whatever score is turned in - and a super cool modernist jazz avant-garde classic is born and loved by soundtrack folk everywhere! So, how'd it look, did you watch any filming? Do we have a winner here or what? ;-)

CD COMING SOON FROM SONY !! -- (nice front cover, btw) More details here: http://filmmusicreporter.com/2013/12/31/robocop-soundtrack-details/ I'm slightly excited, because of my love for the character of RoboCop, and judging by the music of Elite Squad I think Bromfman could do a serviceable score. However, I believe I'll be disappointed by this new RoboCop score, as I was very disappointed indeed with the new Dredd. Hope Bromfman doesn't go that way. Poledouris (and Silvestri too, speaking of Dredd) is one of my idols... and absolutely unmatchable!

The suit looks decent enough when it has the classic silver colors, But when they paint it black...sigh. The original version of the suit still looks great. An 80's design that hasn't really dated much at all.
