It's not a common trend, fortunately, but do you think it's overkill on the labels part? I have three that I can think of * (Conan the Barbarian, Santa Claus and The Wild Bunch) and while I really like Wyatt Earp by JNH, I edited the single CD down to around 55 minutes, so I don't think it's a good idea to grab that one. Of the three I own, I don't enjoy them THAT much and sometimes find the first (or second with Conan) original release sufficient, although the Mancini does have some cool extra score tracks. But just in general, do you think a single score merits a triple discer? Just curious. * edit = I also have ST-TMP, which is probably my favourite! double edit, if Breakdown by Poledouris is a 3 discer (can't remember) I have that too, but hardly play it!

I'm fine with it. If it's what was recorded, I'd rather have it all than selections.

I would like to hear from the people here that own The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo 3CD set. I saw the movie and thought the music was not good and then the composer releases a 3 CD set? I would not buy 1 CD of this score. Was that release too long. I thought it would be good, because I like what I heard in The Social Network.

Depends on the score.

Depends on the score. Likewise. Though my favorite 3-disk release is Kaper's masterful MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY. Like some of you here, I enjoy having all the music on the disks, and being enabled to listen to what I prefer.

There's a 5-disc bootleg of INCEPTION out there. Yeah, no thanks.

No. Not for just any score. The complete recordings of Shore's The Lord of the Rings films are three discs apiece––or four in the case of Return of the King. And while I have edited these scores down to single-disc listening experiences, I very much appreciate having them complete over the span of their three or four discs. They can be daunting listens in their complete form, but the music is truly worth having. Every last cue.
